Private Messages on Steemit - Is it a Killer of other Social Media Sites?

PROS
+ auto-type-bots will be revealed and may be dismissed with flags and some new restrictions of users. I really think that users might need more rights to restrict spam;
+ people can chat on the site so their content and comments would be less like ‘thank you’ or ‘nice post’.
+ (main) people leave other social media platforms or messengers!
CONS
- spam in private messages might appear;
- less content will be published because people would tell a lot in private messages.

Type in the comments what you think of possible private messages on Steemit and if it makes sense at all.
we think alike anforo, i think this already exist is busy.org but if steemit.com also have this... it becomes much more awesome
For sure it could be. Now we have an excellent design and it makes me believe in Steemit

if private messages succeed on steem it.... it will become a bargaining plate form for upvote ,resteem and following...... the quality will die..... and ultimately it will die......
maybe but if pm won't be rewarded this scenario might not happen

I wrote a proposal for the implementation of private chat recently. I believe more in its pros than cons. In the proposal in suggested some ways to combat spamming and other frauds which are likely to come with it.

One of the main ideas on Steem platform is it is 100% transparent (everyone see everything), private messaging is not transparent (of course it's useful)
I like the opinion and thought of it as well, maybe we don’t need private messages

You can already write private messages in the Steem chat Anforo.
I personally don't use it as I don't see much value in it. The people I really want to talk with will be contacted via comment and then added to my Skype.
I don’t use Steemit chat either
I think adding a "write private message" button to everyones blog + post would help to connect more with the users.
Of course you will also receive unwanted messages from users, just like in the comments.
