John Carpenter makes a cameo in The Thing (the video game)

The Thing (video game) is a third-person shooter survival horror video game of the year 2002 published by Konami, the game is a direct sequel to the 1982 movie from the director John Carpenter. In the game we will manage Captain Blake, a member of a rescue team that will go to Antarctica the day after the events seen in the film. From there and especially in the first levels we will see many details and winks of the film.

Although it was relatively successful selling over one million units worldwide, and receives a good amount of positive reviews, it's not the reason why I'm making an article in my series of VGF, being a big fan of JC the director, not the messiah (although his ideas of peace and love
wasn't that bad), anyway and many of his films, in addition to the chill that gave me The Thing, I was very pleased when I found out about this fact, that John Carpenter is a big fan of video games and endorsed the game, besides lending his voice to one of the characters.

Carpenter interprets Shaun Faraday the Chief Medical Researcher of Gen Inc that was conducting a research on an extraterrestrial organism known as the Thing, and in case you wonder, the Dr. Faraday is shot to death by Whitley one of the antagonists of the game.
