Introducing @altnews - A Steemit Initiative Designed To Discover Authors & Keep You Informed

What is altnews?

I've created @altnews with the intention of providing a platform for other authors and I to post informative articles about current topics that won't get the mainstream attention they deserve. In a world full of propaganda and misinformation that is used to immobilise the masses it's extremely important for us to have a source of news that is genuine and without loyalty to corporate interests. It can be quite hard to gain attention on Steemit when you're posting your own news articles from your personal page. That's why I believe that @altnews can be an imperative part of our growth as a community, it gives unknown users a chance to share their work on a page that is recognised for honest journalism and genuine motives.

What does this mean for authors?

Any authors that want to publish their work on @altnews can email me at [email protected] or just message me on Steemit Chat under the name timd. Authors that get their articles posted on @altnews will receive 90% of any SBD earned on that post including any subsequent payouts that may come after the initial 1 day payout period. Writers will be given credit in the title and at the end of the article. This initiative is designed to provide opportunities for relatively unknown authors to help garner attention to their work and build a reputation based on integrity that they can carry on to their own personal page. All posts will be vetted to make sure there is no plagiarism or false information.

Ultimately the goal of @altnews is to unearth authors that get lost in the clutter of Steemit but also give readers an honest account of current affairs. This aims to help writers build the confidence to continue producing stellar content.
