This is just a huge social experiment, Steemit just turned one year old and had no prototype to guide it...
I would love to see how a one year old would raise itself with a couple of parents who check in like 4 times a week LOL :)

Every industry has its great points (like getting paid to blog);
or negative points, like a doctor having to "deal" with 'sick' people.
Steemit is one year old, who cares what happens because we will all learn from this grand social experiment...
These issues only serve to make Steemit stronger in the long run.
Steemit is not about money, Steemit is about an open place that is free from censorship and manipulation . . .
That people can make money herein is just a fringe benefit and a temporary downtime to that is irrelevant to the long run of Steemit's mission...

It is because the reward pool needs to grow into maturation as he reward pool is like a new genesis block of the reward pool. You will see pennies appearing which will continue to grow over the course of the week. Over the next month the numbers will be much more back to normal and mostly there after a week and two along the way on our new path.

Yes a big surprise indeed. Now we can get surprised by how much we are going to get this week because we can't be too sure just yet. Almost like waiting to open gifts!
