Steemit Iron Chef 2018 Act 2 Round 3 - Rustic Garlic Parmesan Wings

In days of yonder, garlic was used to ward off evil spirits, werewolves and even vampires. Soldiers used have garlic on them when going to war, such was the belief in the powerful and magical properties of this pungent bulb!

Today, we know that garlic not only has amazing healing properties - from boosting immunity to lowering cholesterol, but also is used extensively in kitchens worldwide; one ingredient no kitchen should ever be without - be it for cooking or warding off evil!

Back to the business of today and without any further ado, I present to you the star of this week's Steemit Iron Chef 2018 Act 2 Round 3, initiated by @progressivechef, and of course you've guessed it by now - it's the magical, healing, pungent bulb called Garlic!

I have chosen to make finger licking crispy Rustic Garlic Parmesan Wings and serve it with a scrumptious piquant Blue Cheese & Sour Cream Dip as well as Baby Potatoes, roasted Garlic and Leeks.

Wings were seasoned with a Garlic & Herb Spice and marinated in crushed Garlic, fresh Rosemary & Thyme and Lemon Juice. Thereafter wings were dusted with flour, pan fried to brown, then baked in oven.

A sauce made with melted Butter, crushed Garlic and grated Parmesan Cheese was poured over Wings before serving.

Ingredients required:

  • Garlic cloves
  • Garlic & herb spice
  • Fresh Rosemary & Thyme
  • Free Range Chicken Wings
  • Lemon juice
  • Wheat Flour

For the Sauce:

  • Butter
  • Garlic - crushed
  • Parmesan Cheese - grated

For the Dip:

  • Sour Cream
  • Blue Cheese - crumbled

Sides:

  • Baby Potatoes
  • Leeks
  • Garlic Cloves

The dip was super delish - blue cheese crumbled into sour cream and stirred, marrying the piquant flavour of the cheese beautifully with the rich and creamy thick sour cream.

Now this is a recipe that I can even appreciate, I love garlic roasted Parmesan anything. Well done Lizelle, I thought your Mom got her hand cut from trying to sneak a taste of the wings, or are you just making up that story about the "fall" to cover your tracks?

Haha mr Papper, not guilty!
Mom will be 87 in September, still bakes but this acoustic neuroma in her head, not a guitar ;) is affecting her balance a tad too much to my liking lately! She has not learnt to move slower so if she turns around too quickly, she goes into fly mode, quite alarming! We've given her all kinds of walking sticks and walkers but she tries to run with them, well not quite but almost, and of course those things are meant to be used at a slower pace! Anyway she's a real shorty so does not have to far too fall, must have strong bones :)

So be it then; the court of Sultnpapper finds Lizelle "innocent" of the charges.
Trust that if you ever find yourself facing charges do not enter a plea of "not guilty" enter a plea of innocent. I'm not sure about the laws in RSA , but here in the USA we are suppose to be "innocent until proven guilty" yet when you go to court it seems that none of the courts will accept a plea of "innocent", that should make people wonder why that is but it doesn't. There is a big difference between the words "innocent" and "not guilty" but most people don't realize it and that is a huge mistake.

What a relief, I'm innocent, I now see the difference! Here it's also innocent until proven guilty, but the law can be so twisted!

All my favourite things in this recipe @lizelle. I love Chicken Wings, garlic and blue cheese. I definitely would not have been happy sharing these with anyone 😀
