Steemit Iron Chef 2018 Act 01 Round 13 : Chunky Beef & Lentil Stew
Chunky Beef & Lentil Stew
Steemit Iron Chef 2018 Act 01 Round 13
The 2018 Steemit Ironchef challenge is here! This year @progressivechef broke up the contest into 3 separate 'Acts' consisting of 15 rounds. The special ingredient for Act 1 Round 13 of the 2018 @steemit-ironchef challenge is the Lentil. When I think of Lentils, the only thing that comes to mind is soup! I decided to make a Beef & Lentil stew loaded with vegetables and chunks of tender beef. Here is the recipe in a few simple steps:
Ingredients
1.5 pounds of Beef
2 cups of Lentils
80 oz of Beef Broth
1 large White Onion
1 28oz can of Diced Tomatoes
3 Celery Stalks
3 Carrots
6 Cloves of Garlic
1 branch of chopped Rosemary
2 teaspoons of Oregano
Parsley
Salt & Pepper
Olive Oil
Step 1: Chop & Season the Beef
Chop the beef in 1 inch slices. Season with some salt and pepper.
Step 2: Brown the Beef
In a large pot, brown the beef on all sides and then remove from the pot.
Step 3: Chop the Onion
Slice a large white onion into small pieces
Step 4: Chop the Celery
Chop up three stalks of celery.
Step 5: Chop the Carrots
Chop a few carrots into small chunks.
Step 6: Pick & Chop the Rosemary
Pick the needles off the Rosemary branch and chop them up.
Step 7: Mince the Garlic
Mince up six cloves of garlic.
Step 8: Add the Veggies to the Pot
Add the onion, carrots, celery, rosemary and garlic into the pot with the leftover oil from the beef. Cook on low until the onions are somewhat tender.
Step 9: Add the Beef
Toss the beef back into the pot of veggies.
Step 10: Add Diced Tomatoes
Pour in a can of diced tomatoes. Juice & all.
Step 11: Add Beef Broth
Dump in 80oz of Beef Broth and stir it up.
Step 12: Bring to a Boil
Bring the pot to a boil and then back down to a simmer. Throw a top on and cook for roughly one hour.
Step 13: Add the Lentils
Add 2 cups of Lentils and let simmer for another 45 minutes.
Step 14: Stir in Parsley
Stir in a bit of freshly chopped parsley
Step 15: Serve & Enjoy!
Enjoy this Chunky Beef & Lentil Stew!

Mmmm friend, I must confess that I ate about two hours ago and seeing your publication made me hungry again. Wow, that looks great, I love how the photos came out because you can see the step by step of the preparation until the final result is majestic. Personally I had never seen some lentils tied with beef, with chicken if I had eaten them, personally I would accompany this with a good white rice and white cheese. Really friend let me congratulate you because I am so spectacular, I wish you good luck and I hope you win this week.
I really liked how the meat looks in this photo.
