Separate voting power for post and responses.

in #steemit-ideas8 years ago (edited)

I want to up-vote a couple of responses because I really believe they are worth it, but in much cases I don't, because I want more voting power for the Original posts and not "spent" it to responses... Would it make sense to have 2 separate voting powers? One for the initial posts and one only for the comments/responses? I think it would give greater motivation to participate on conversations, and that will ultimately give life to steemit (except the dollars of course)

Sort:

The op benefits from all discussion rewards. So an up vote to a response pays both.

I haven't made it clear enough... I mean other post in general not only the OP post... I don't want to spent all my voting power due an interesting conversation on a specific post... I want when leaving an interesting conversation to have still voting power to vote for other post as well... It would make sense to me to have full voting power for each separate post conversation...

If someone wants to achieve max. rewards in the current system it makes not sense to upvote responses. It make only sense to upvote posts !!! (that is the reason of my above suggestion)
And that alone discourage to keep good conversations live....That is my conclusion/opinion... If someone disagree with me please let me know and explain me why I am wrong...

I agree, that is the way I understood it too. It looks great for daily post sorting, but counterproductive for sorting good responses\conversations. It completely removes the incentive to upvote comments you agree with but that do not seem popular, forcing more of the "I agree" type posts like this. Unless you know for sure the %4 investors club will like and upvote that comment too, it's not a good investment.
