They started from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and then they got into a partnership with Intel. Enigma Protocol promised to deliver privacy and scalability to the world of smart contracts. Now they finally have a working product. this is a revolution when it comes to privacy.

EOS is Radically Transparent

It makes the project the best performing smart contract platform currently available. But how many people would put their trade secrets out in the open. even if you don't have nothing to hide, why open up yourself to data mining. As long as you don't violate the NAP, you are entitled to your privacy. Enigma Protocol offers exactly that.

Now you don't have to sacrifice your privacy just so you can have decentralization. Those who process your data are not going to know what they are processing. Contract-level Sharding is still in development. Here is there Roadmap:

Hello @vimukti

There is a never ending battle in the Crypto Space about true decentralization. With privacy being the bone of contention in most cases.

Most revolutionary Blockchains has been shot at because they don't offer Privacy.

Enigma is bringing a great solution to this problem and I hope it does well.

It's a public testnet with most of the functionality.

The initial testnet release is a self-contained network which allows external developers to build their first secret contracts. This developer release provides a deployable Docker network that holds a simplified, containerized environment that also makes available multiple core components of the Enigma protocol. Developers are able to deploy secret contracts, and verify that these contracts are executed as intended.
Secret contracts operate by being executed in a retrofitted EVM running inside a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE), based on Intel’s SGX technology. This supports out-of-the-box interoperability with Solidity, as well as the Ethereum network.
