저기 근데요, 스팀헌트 들어가면 전부 영어라서 도대체 뭐하는 곳인지, 어떻게 글을 올려야 하는지, 뭘 해야 하는지 1도 모르겠어요. 한글화 계획은 없나요?
네 아무래도 랭킹 커뮤니티이고, 랭킹이라는게 서로 언어가 통해야 공정하게 경쟁가능하기 때문에 영어로만 운영되고 있습니다. 나중에 덩치가 더 커지고 한국만의 스팀헌트 니즈가 더 커지면 한글화를 준비해 보겠습니다. 감사합니다 :)
제가 하는 게임중에 글로벌서버로 운영하는 게임이 있습니다. 게임 내 채팅창이나 쪽지창에 번역 버튼이 있습니다. 그래서 서로 다른 언어를 써도 의사소통이 됩니다. 영어로만 해야 언어가 통한다는 건 고정관념이라고 생각합니다. 구글번역 기술도 매우 좋아요. 시험삼아 글을 하나 올려봤습니다. 물론 한글로 작성한 다음, 구글번역기 돌려서 그대로 복붙했습니다. 그러나 사이트 내에 번역버튼 하나만 있어도 충분합니다. 페이스북의 경우 번역버튼이 있지요.
"서로 알아들을만한 수준"과 "랭킹경쟁에 공정할만큼 알맞은 수준"과는 조금 다르게 접근해야 하는 측면이 있습니다. 물론 서로 대화하고 개인적인 내용들을 공유하는 소셜이라면 언어가 다르더라도 기술의 도움을 빌리는게 충분히 가능하겠죠. 하지만 랭킹 경쟁에서는 어디까지나 컨텐츠가 같은 수준으로 공유가 되어야 하는 이슈가 있기 때문에 영어로만 운영되는 겁니다. 헌팅되는 제품들 역시 지역적으로만 유통되는 제품들은 헌팅의 대상이 아니기도 하고요. 물론 번역기가 거의 완벽한 수준으로 발전한다면야... 가능해 지겠지만 현재 구글 번역기의 수준은 아직 그정도가 되지 못합니다^^
