Here is the coolest light I have ever seen, Notti Smart Light. You can connect the Notti to your smartphone via Bluetooth (suitable for both of IOS and Andriod) and Notti notifies you with the different color options. You can choose a separate color for each application such as email, Facebook, Whatsapp etc.

For example, you are missing a lot of email or messages because you can't check your smartphones frequently, then use Notti and it notifies you.

Notti also works synchronously with the alarm you set up on your smartphone.

The other cool feature is customizable mood lighting.

It also has music mode.
