Did you know cork is one of the most sustainable and endurable natural materials on earth?
Cork is the bark of a cork tree. When stripping the tree (the cork), it'll grow back. This makes cork super sustainable!
The company Jelinek (around for more than 150 years) developed a whole range of products using cork as the base material. From the known floors and kitchen utensils, to much lesser know fashion and luxury items.
Their Umbrella is one if its kind! Completely waterproof and flexible as an umbrella should be! And it even looks super cool!

I really don't know how they managed that. Recently I've had a purse of cork in my hand; Feels like leather-ish. I was told they add something to the cork to make it like that. In Italy a lot of these cork leather-ish material is made and in countries like Portugal many small entrepreneurs and designers make products from it. Interestingly the cork floor was kinda popular a couple of decades ago, but for some reason this material got forgotten. Even the wine bottlers are using more and more plastic bottle tops, instead of cork.
