I just did some research and now a days we are not declared Dead until.
the irreversible cessation of all of the following:
1 - total cerebral function, usually assessed by EEG as flat-line. ( at This moment your brain is already out )
2 - spontaneous function of the respiratory system.
3 - spontaneous function of the circulatory system.

That's why I thought we can't say that our brains live for X minutes after death since death is declared after all cerebral functions are down.
