It would be cool if there was a system which automatically gave for example 100% upvote to the first place, 67% upvote to the second place and 33% upvote to the third place, but I guess just writing it manually works just as well;)

You're actually replying to automated message and the new system works just like you described it except with a bit different numbers. The total voting weight stays the same but it's just divided between 1-3 players now so it's in leaders best interest to eat everyone if possible.
