Steemfest Fork in Acapulco - February 2017 - Movement of Jah People
There's going to be a new Steemfest Fork in Acapulco in February 2017...sort of bootstrapping itself off of the already many steemian's who will be in Acapulco for Anarchapulco.
This is pretty cool stuff. I think this really taps into showcasing the bigger picture potential of creative collaboration here amongst steemian's. Meaning, that profoundly awesome things are possible with a bit of structured planning and organization. What's also really cool is the possibility to sort of self-fund events and initiatives.
Maybe this could be the beginning of the Steemit Olympics. I'm not saying that it's got to copy any sort of olympic structure of time trials and exact sporting events...but maybe....just maybe...creating a new much cooler sort of world wide steemit olympics could be a real thing...i think the fun and funny of it all would be in placing a strong emphasis on recreation and leisure with a bit of ridiculousness.
Maybe in creating a really cool kind of event and venue...like different than just a traditional type of speaker presentation type of thing - there could be a more lively focus on play - recreation and leisure....expecially enjoying the great scene which is acapulco. Maybe the forked steemfest could be a combination of things...a melting pot of creative collaboration. Maybe there's a poker tournament, a golf tournament, a volley ball tournament, beach socccer tourney, beach football, a ridiculous scavenger hunt....i don't know i'm just making it up.....maybe an epic concert too. Maybe the focus in and around the activities is in social networking - where teams and groups are created at random for various things...i dunno.
will come back to this later - just figured i would give brainstorming some of the fun possibilities that came to mind.
Maybe in the future...Steemian's will create 'property witnesses' and Steemit bases will be created all over the planet as places of profound awesomeness...where the potential is somewhat limitless.
So much awesomeness is possible with a bit of creative collaboration. Steemit and the steem blockchain streamlines the process for new ways of innovation and entrepreneurship.
The potential is Huuuge.
Pretty sure we are in the midst of game changing paradigm shifts.

What I'm enjoying is the enthusiasm from so many people. Steemit attracts an unusual cross-section of people, usually people who are fed up with centralized social manipulation and are looking for the free and decentralized community-regulated exchange of information and ideas. This is what the internet became famous for originally and it's what the blockchain is allowing for today - it's exactly what the social manipulators despise today.
Someday Yah's people will be on the move, the Exodus is coming, just as Bob says. @ironshield

So your idea of the Steemit Olympics is actually kind of fun. When I worked at the library in college they did their own library themed olympics and honestly it was a lot of fun. So there's potential there!
But we saw the magic in Anarchapulco and conferences like it lies in the people who come and the connections they make, as well as the place. People wanna get together with eachother, we just wanna give people a different way to do it. So keep posting on this if it suits you and share it with me again if you do! It was several days where we did little library themed games everything from donut eating to running around the library with stacks of books lol.
