Dear friends,
on the third day of Steemfest I walked along the banks of the river Vistula to the conference venue.
Liebe Freunde,
am dritten Steemfest-Tag bin ich am Flussufer der Weichsel entlang zum Konferenzort gelaufen.
On the way I discovered some signs that there were already a few Steemians before me. But also a well-known German-Polish football player was honoured there with his own street sign.
Boulevard Podolski
From a distance I could see the famous Wawel Castle. Wawel is the former residence of the Polish kings in Krakow. Together with the old town of Krakow, the building ensemble is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Aus der Ferne konnte ich das bekannte Wawel-Schloss sehen. Der Wawel ist die ehemalige Residenz der polnischen Könige in Krakau. Zusammen mit der Krakauer Altstadt ist das Bauensemble Weltkulturerbe der UNESCO.

The Steemfest-conference also took place in an impressive building: The ICE Conference Center.
Die Steemfest-Konferenz fand auch in einem beeindruckenden Gebäude statt: Dem ICE Konferenz Zentrum.

Coffee and snacks
After trying some coffee and some of the tasty snacks, a group photo or video was taken with a drone.
Nachdem ich ein paar Kaffee und einge der leckeren Snacks probiert hatte, wurde ein Gruppenfoto bzw. Video mit einer Drohne gemacht.
My hands were obviously still a bit shaky from last night's party ;-)
Meine Hände waren offensichtlich immer noch etwas zitterig von der Party der letzten Nacht ;-)

I have therefore decided to listen to a number of talks.
Daher habe ich mich entschlossen, mir einige Vorträge anzuhören.
I was particularly fascinated by the talk from @sorin.cristescu, who heads the "Blockchain Competence Center" for an EU commission and wants to fork already forked the Steem-Blockchain for the EU in order to create a better world. (Please check his comment below this post for more infos.)
Besonders fasziniert war ich von dem Talk von @sorin.cristescu, der für eine Kommission der EU das "Blockchain Competence Center" leitet und die Steem-Blockchain für die EU forken will geforkt hat, um damit eine bessere Welt zu schaffen. My absolute favorite lecture was of course the one of my @sndbox buddies @voronoi and @hansikhouse. You can see both lectures one after the other right at the beginning of the video, that I like to share with you here.
Mein absoluter Lieblingsvortrag war aber natürlich der von meinen @sndbox Kumpels @voronoi und @hansikhouse. Ihr könnt beide Vorträge hintereinander direkt am Anfang des Videos sehen, dass ich hier gerne mit euch teile.
Despite initial technical problems, they gave an exciting talk about creative approaches to using the blockchain and bringing all sorts of crypto art projects to steemit with their @creativecrypto magazine.
Trotz anfänglicher technischer Probleme haben sie einen spannenden Vortrag über kreative Ansätze gehalten, die Blockchain zu nutzen und dabei alle möglichen Crypto-Kunst Projekte mithilfe ihres @creativecrypto Magazins zu Steemit zu holen.
They are my inspiration and great role models (and they even mentioned me in their talk)!

The day went by way too fast and soon it was time for dinner again.
Der Tag ging viel zu schnell vorbei und es wurde bald schon wieder Zeit für das Dinner.

While we were waiting for food, I had an interesting conversion with @felixxx about rearing and slaughtering quails.
Während wir auf das Essen warteten, hatte ich eine interessante Konversion mit @felixxx über die Aufzucht und das Schlachten von Wachteln.

But that didn't stop us from enjoying the food that followed. On the contrary, the awareness of what it means to eat meat was sharpened afterwards.
Aber das hielt uns nicht davon ab, das anschließende Essen zu genießen. Im Gegenteil: Das Bewusstsein darüber, was es bedeutet Fleisch zu essen, war anschließend geschärft.

After dinner we should go on to Club 89 to see some great Steemit musicians at the "Night of Steem". But that's stuff for my next post.

Hello @shortcut and thank you for your kind words! I'm sorry we didn't get around to chat.
However with respect to our project, we are not only at "planning" stage, we have actually working software (it is THAT convenient to build a project with steem!)
Of course we are at the very beginning still, under heavy development and you might not be impressed because we haven't yet departed very much from a steem knock-off but it goes to show how easily you can get up and running with this blockchain!

Your project is really interesting and I'm impressed to see, that the Steem blockchain can be adopted for projects like this.
I'm also a huge fan of opensource and creative-commons and I really appreciate the work of utopian a lot. Although we didn't manage to talk, I'm happy to connect on Steemit and I'm looking forward to reading updates about the development of the project.
I did spot you but didn't get chance to say hello, maybe next time. @katharsisdrill did say you were attending.
