RE: Why Communities Local Support is Important for STEEM to Thrive
I quite agree that developing local communities through Steem would be of great benefit.
Unfortunately in most parts of the world (for example the UK) the numbers of Steemians still active are so low it is hard to get local activities going.
Are you still growing the @dses project?
Don't worry about that, many countries are still quite slow to do so (despite Malaysia already started this idea 2 years prior haha)
I just heard from 2 of the SF attendees that internal trading happened during the end of Steemfest because some needed just enough cash to get to the airport and didn't want to waste the ATM fee, and another Steemian there was open to absorb STEEM at current exchange rate vs Baht
This happened locally and it was very convenient when emergencies / inconveniences like this happens, and the ability to directly exchange with STEEM to fiat on local land becomes as seamless and fee free as STEEM transfer.
This kind of convenience idea can spread like wildfire if one is open to share the experience; just like what buttcoins did.
As long as you never give up the idea that this is possible.
Be of good cheer!
Good to hear of that.
yeah.
And for DSES, yes it is still growing, still a little slow as I am juggling between work and family at the moment.
What does DSES need to grow?
So much; but getting business enterprise and start-ups on board (beyond content and social network) is crucial to make Steem a daily life reality.
