Its understandable that there is no fuel for spekulators. Half baked announcements creat rumors --> large deviations --> possible instability --> desaster
Funny, a look on the steemit youtube channel helped me to "predict" this. Its realy that they bet on applications like steem-monsters to let them speak for steem.

The focus on the Applicationlayer as a primary driver, I think after all we know about networks it is right BUT the ultimative condition for any SMTs to be used --> is that the world knows about it. Ethereum and EOS had huge exposure to mainstream media back then. When Ned speaks about a horizon of one year for SMTs to take of, than I dont see where the accelleration should come from, because there is no big PR-department...
Whats your opinion? maybe he gave some insights.
