Back From Steemfest, Home Sweet Home (Gringa Steemfest Travel Series: pt.5)
......And just like that Steemfest and my travels must come to an end. At least for now.
As sad as I am to see it pass I'm also filled with a fresh excitement for the future and I know the friendships I found there and the experiences we shared will stay with us. Haha, and (let's be honest) everyone will be talking about this event for months, including me. I have many, many posts about it coming up myself.
See I'm wearing my new Steemfest T-shirt!
However, before I get to those I wanted to do a little quick post and let you guys know that I'm back at home and can't wait to get back to work on blogging from here. I've had the best time traveling recently, but there truly is no place like home. I'm still so jetlagged from the trip even as I'm writing this. Yesterday was 30 hours of straight travel and I can never manage to sleep on a plane so I'm dragging today, but that's the best part of being back home, you can sleep.
Considering the hour we left for the first flight yesterday (it was like 4 am) I found it so funny that we ran into a handful of Steemians at the airport in Lisbon. The overseas flight happened to have an ironic path. Haha, we literally flew over our town on our way to Los Angeles airport but obviously there was no way to stay there short of jumping out the window with a parachute.
Our second flight was delayed due to fog so we ended the trip even later than expected.
When my father and I landed at our little local airport in Spokane we were so excited to see all the snow. Although I will admit the temperature was pretty shocking since we had just come from LAX. Those of you who've followed for a while will know that I haven't had snow for the holidays in years so I'm over the moon excited about this season!
This is my backyard!
So now that I'm home I've got so many photos to sort through and share and so many new projects and things to plan. Hey, who else is excited about the holidays????
ALL CONTENT IS MINE AND ORIGINAL! All of these food photos were taken with my Nikon D5300 and my favorite Lens, the Nikon AF-S FX NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G. You can find out more in my INTRO POST. And by the way, to all the minnows out there, my intro post did a huge $0.21
Oh, and don't forget to follow me on all your favorite social media channels!

I am so thankful you captured our memories so beautifully.
Wow was it cold when we stepped off of that plane. I love the snow, but what a shock.
Can't wait for next year's steemfest, the whole family is going to the next one.
Yeah, it has been so cold. Again, thanks for making it all possible!!

Oh, well thank you so much @momskitchen and I'm hoping you can be at the next one too!
Haha ! In your honest opinion , is it worth the expense !? Of course its a once in a lifetime experience but im just wondering how the steemfest went compared to the year before ! I know there was double the people , and im thinking that will double again to 600 for steemfest 3 ! 👍👍👍✌
Welcome back! Glad to see you've arrived safe and sound. Looks like you had a fantastic time, and can't wait to see more posts about your adventures. And what a welcome home! That back yard shot is glorious. I'm not a fan of cold weather, but there is something so homey about a nice blanket of snow near the holidays. Hope it inspires some cozy winter recipes! 😉
Oh yes I agree about the cold AND the snow! It's sort of a hard trade off I guess. Thank you for your sweet wishes and I look forward to sharing plenty of recipes!

How sad it is to leave SteemFest yet how nice it is to be home!
I too have at least 30 posts to make from SteemFest and am still not lively enough to get into it much. I just got more than a couple hours of sleep for the first time in almost 2 weeks last night!
Though I have the content its just about putting it together. Have a few thousand photos to edit along the way.....
Hahahaha what an adventure!
So great meeting you and your father. Hope to get to know you better here on Steemit and see you next year!
