STELLABELLE’S STEEMFEST 2 ENTRY: CONQUERING THE HEIGHT OF SOCIETAL PROBLEMS THROUGH STEEMIT.

Relating with my experience as an unemployed and dependent woman before joining steemit has given me the insight of how not being able to provide for oneself and the people around feels, trust me, it could be one of the depressing times of one’s life.

I was unemployed until I found steemit, as a woman I think this has to be curbed among women. I discovered that we have fewer women than men here on steemit and a more reason why women should also jump into the boat.

Past activities before steemit

I have always had passion to help and be there for people. I have been in a non-congregational, non-profit making community in my church called Sant'egidio established by Andre Riccardi Read here. Sant'edigio was later introduced in Nigeria by one of the community Responsibles called Prof. Jan De Volder. Our duty as a community is to work for the poor, pray and be their source of happiness. This community groomed me into the woman I am today. That is why where ever I find myself I always want to associate with the poor.

With the communities in Lagos and other states in Nigeria, we have clothed the naked, fed the hungry, laughed with the sad, sheltered the homeless, taken care of the sick as it is our belief that we receive mercy through works of mercy to others. We are known for charity and love.

I have visited Modupe motherless home in Lagos single handedly even without having any source of income and I made a post on it titled ‘putting smiles on faces through steemit’ before now, so why would I back out on what I have always done even now that I have a reasonable source of income through steemit.

My vision as a steemian

  • The rate of unemployment which is high especially in Nigeria where I come from leaves youths at the receiving end. With there introduction on steemit, an average youth can boast of a legal source of income and not the other way round. With this the steemit and Nigerian communities will continue to expand. Steemit has made it so easy and it is a place everyone is ought to be.

  • Helping the poor and needy through steem care project and creating awareness through the steemit in Nigeria coming up soon.

  • Encouraging more women to join steemit as it will give them more sense of belonging in the society and also empower them financially. This will increase self reliance and positive self esteem among them as well.

Project- time through steemit

As for my little contribution through steemit, I have some friends who am working together in our project steem care, a charity and non profit initiative to help promote better life and put smiles on faces of the less privileged. They are (@ehiboss, @illuminatus, @jade56 and my humble self @gloglo). For now we are not asking for donations on this particular project rather we ask that you shower us with your support and encouragement.

Project steem care is based on giving back to the poor and less privileged through the favor we have received through steemit and therefore we are giving them willingly from our heart charitably. It is going to kick start on the first week- end of September.

In the same vain the steemit in Nigerian event is the project that we plead your humble donations which I didn’t remember to add to my video and I beg your forgiveness. We are in the quest of preaching steemit to people here in Nigeria as that is the way we can also help curb the unemployment youths are facing here in Nigeria. Therefore we are going to be creating awareness for more youths and women to also benefit too.

Why I want to be at the steemfest2

  • Most people I have approached to join steemit are mostly inexperienced and are afraid of racism because they believe that in every international setup that there are bound to be racism. Well its time to prove them and their notion wrong. Therefore if am able to win this contest, my presence at the steemfest2 this would make them see that steemit is a place for everybody no matter the skin color, background or country.

  • Secondly, I would want to meet some excellent people in this community who started this amazing journey before me, and have excelled in their various niche and projects. To speak and learn from them, gain more knowledge which I can pass down to my fellow youth and women in the steemit community, in Nigeria and where ever I find myself.

  • I also want to see them face to face, interact socially, exchange ideas which I can adopt and implement for the betterment of not only my immediate community, but in my country at large. This experience will also help me heighten my sense of belonging as a steemian.

Whenever the opportunities to learn and interact with success stories present itself, we must not only grab it, but utilize it to its fullest. I believe steemfest is a place where we can network and come up with effective strategies that we will use not only in preparing for another awesome year, but things we can apply in our daily lives.

I wish to appreciate @stellabelle for the support and encouragement so far and to the entire community for this opportunity to speak and move in the right direction towards overcoming my shyness, I am most grateful for that.

In conclusion, I am happy as a woman now because I have found financial independence in what I love doing the most. To me this is a definition of peace and I want every one around me to be able to say that about themselves.

Thank you... Love you all.
