At night we visited the salt mines and had dinner there, but in the day time while most others were still recovering from the night before, a bunch of us joined @cleanplanet on a walk along the river.

We started off at Qubus, as usual, each of us grabbing a bag for the rubbish on which we proudly scribbled our usernames. I had forgotten to buy gloves. Not to worry, @cleanplanet had thought of everything and provided us each with disposable gloves.

It was mostly fun and games, as we got to meet and have conversations with each other under a different setting; no loud music or red lights. We didn’t have to scream to hear each other’s voices.

It was also a beautifully sunny day out in Kraków. The fog had lifted by the time we got out there. Onlookers seemed a little confused as to what we were doing. We clearly weren’t dressed like street cleaners. There was even someone with a toddler strapped to her front. ”What are you doing?” someone asked me as I picked the discarded cigarette butts near his feet. ”We are auditioning for street cleaner jobs” I joked back. Then I went ahead and explained it to him.

We didn’t find much litter to collect, relatively speaking. Kraków is a really clean city! Even the old town is surprisingly clean. Yes it is run-down and rustic, but it is clean. Either the cleaners are very diligent or Cracovians are just more litter conscious than others.

After the walk, some of us returned to the hotel for a coffee and a quick chat before heading back to our bases in preparation for the big night.
