Polish Visas To Steemfest 3 Denied 😏

in #steemfest6 years ago

DTubers!

How are you doing today. I hope you're living an unrestricted life.

In this video I talk about the @Wafrica visas that were denied. Steemians from West African were planning to attend Steemfest 3 in Krakow, but they will be unable to attend due to the said visa denial.

Their tickets are now available for sale via @surfyogi - Please see this post for details

You will be purchasing the tickets at the earlier (cheaper) rate if they're still available

Yes the first world privileges...not a nice thing to luck upon. I was actually thinking last year when i was outside of the pool venue talking with @luzcypher to propose the next steemit location in Mexico (apart from being a great location in november) that will make sense also from visa requirements point of view. Mexico i believe is more friendly dealing with visitors from around the world than a east-european country as Poland. A Romanian visa will be as well extremely difficult to get, we are not among the friendly people :(

I'd love to go to Mexico haha. It may be a bit far for most Europeans though. But I guess at least people in the Americas would be able to get there more easily.

It really is disappointing, I hope this doesn't happen to me next year OMG...Maybe I should start applying now, if only I knew where it will be...

Lol. Yeah quick start depositing money into your account already. Better still, Steemfest 4 in Mombasa ✨👍🏿

Oh WoW! Sheeeesh!!That would be freaking amazing hehe, I would take ya'll on Safari.

It makes so much sense :)

Coffee, sugar (sugarcane), gold, diamond, crude oil - most of these come from the tagged third 🌍 countries yet they are the most restricted. What a coincidence!!!

While these countries have the most resources on the planet, they have been reduced, restricted, ridiculed through the power of the media, and psychologically defeated, their visionary leaders murdered, exiled, or bought.

Who said there’s no such thing as being Privileged?

Let’s save the rest for later.

To those organising crypto related fest/meet-ups/conference, it will be great to host those in places where the true essence of decentralisation will be appreciated.
@wafrica 👏🏽 for the positive attitude.

It's quite sad.
An idea would be to kick off a parallel conference over there. For example in West Africa, everyone can travel across boarder without Visa requirement. Accra would be the perfect place to hold one - its right in the middle and easy to get to. Dakar, Abuja, Freetown .. all awesome locations.

Maybe it's time to just take matters into your own hands and leave behind the governments of the world and their institutions. It's hard, but maybe a first step would be to organise locally. That's what Steem is about after all.

It's so sad, it would be nice to meet all those WAfrica Steemians. I was looking forward to meeting ejemai at the London Cryptocurrency Show earlier this year too.

Man, that really is too bad. I guess these kinds of attitudes (of the establishments I mean) will take lifetimes to shift. It feels more off kilter here because we're all enjoying decentralization online but it's certainly not mirrored in the real world. But yeah, crypto must scare the pants off the high ups.

It's something they can't control and mostly don't understand. The thing is, crypto has a better chance over in the 'developing' world since the fiat currencies in most of those countries are crap anyway. They can leapfrog us here easily and go full crypto. I'm looking at Rwanda and maybe Sierra Leone to make this happen, being two very forward looking countries.

Couldn't watch - not playing but WOW, look at you tricky Ade! look at your title. bwhahaha :D xo

I feel the pain 😭

Ah dude, that suckssssss

It truly does
