Steemdevnews #11 | SteemCodeit, Elegance, SteemPeak
In these Steemdevnews posts I try to shine some light on development going on and around the Steem blockchain. Here's a small pinch of what's been released or updated recently. Lot's of new front-ends are being developed it seems with all sorts of different focus.
SteemCodeIt
SteemCodeIt is a steembased stack-overflow kind of site which can be found at steemcodeit.com
The idea is group all questions and answers on the same top category "steemcodeit" and use this as a reference point for our code snippets over the Steem blockchain.
This is rather brilliant again if you ask me. Similar to Utopian, this might open up development even more.

Elegance
Elegance is an art-focused front-end to the steem blockchain, showing all and only art related posts
The site is still in beta and it will only take 5 % of your post earnings. Earnings from curation and posts will be used to sponsor art related competitions.

Steempeak
Steempeak is an alternative front-end to the Steem blockchain not unlike steemit.com or busy.org, but it's trying to do some things different, like having no trending page for instance. See the announcement post here

Some really great tools. No hope of offering the option to use only the posting key when logging into steempeak? I know it uses steemconnect but this makes life difficult with group accounts when a person might only have the posting key and no access to the active key.
Hi @penderis, I'm on of the team members working on SteemPeak so I can give you some details about this.
Actually we cannot change the login process because we use SteemConnect, but we've found a very good post made by @eqko itself that explain how to login in busy.org (the same applies to steempeak.com) with the posting key. Actually the active key is required only the first time to authorize a new account, after that there is a small workaround to login with the posting key.

We have some groups using this method to share the same application account on SteemPeak and, also if not perfect, it works quite well ;)
Thank you for the response, I currently use this method which was a bit of a hassle but I guess that is how the cookie crumbles. Would be nice though to instead of starting with escalated privilege just have it start at the lowest possible and escalate as required.
I guess the nice thing is that once setup the keys can be reset and the stored session will still log me in ;) Don't tell anyone.
Yeah i logged into my account in question on steempeak and then gave the writers the posting key and they logged into steemconnect first and it worked for them
Actualy now that you mention that, makes me think I had it a bit topsy turvy. My experience is that every new browser needs the active key. let me check.... Ok tried again but refused on a new browser , I will do some more tests but it does feel like for every new browser I need to go through the initial active key connection, after that can change over to the posting key.
