Steemful - Another Steem blockchain platform (ONGOING DEVELOPMENT)

in #steemdev7 years ago

Introduction

I'm focusing myself on another project of mine which involves building a new platform built on top of Steem blockchain. I know that there are already many existing platforms that are doing great with their services but this project I'm building is an experiment that I'm trying.

Many of you know the Steem roadmap for 2017 on which includes a "Community" feature. I think that is great for breaking down groups of organization to their specific meta. Though the tags could help narrow down the post query but the "Community" feature makes it collectively collate certain posts for a specific group.

I'm planning to build a platform called "Steemful" wherein users can create communities and nominate community councils. It's more like voting for a witness but in this case, the council has an extra power to moderate the community they are a council in. (I'm still formulating the consensus for this so I'll update this post when I'm done finalizing it.)

Feature - Communities

Users can create their own community and they can call it whatever they like. All posts that are posted in the community will have an attribute in the "json_metadata" called "community" with their "community slug". As I have said, you can vote for councils to moderate the community.

Example:
steemful.com/community/steemful/

(We're not live yet as we're still developing a prototype)

Feature - Forums

A community can set up multiple forums and sub-forums under their group on which they can manage them. (Assign "tags" to the forum on which the platform pulls posts with those specific "tags") When a user post under that forum, it automatically adds those specific "tags" assigned on that forum.

Example:
steemful.com/community/steemful/forums/
steemful.com/community/steemful/forums/general/
steemful.com/community/steemful/forums/general/introductions/

(We're not live yet as we're still developing a prototype)

Feature - Collections

Users can create collections to group their Steem posts into different categories.

Example:
Let's say you are doing daily reports on Steem network. Also, you are doing cooking tutorials. I think when a user visits or check your profile, it would be cluttered with different Steem posts and resteemed posts you did. That would make it unorganized. Using "Collections", you can now able to organize them.

steemful.com/@recrypto/collections/ - List of all collection of posts a user have
steemful.com/@recrypto/collections/steem-reports/ (Steem Reports) - List of Steem Report posts
steemful.com/@recrypto/collections/cook-with-me/ (Cook With Me!) - List of cooking tutorial posts

(We're not live yet as we're still developing a prototype)

Development

I would be able to probably build a prototype a couple of weeks from now. I'll keep this post updated with my progress.

Great idea @recrypto. Looking forward to this.

users can create communities and nominate community councils

Appoint them or nominate them and if they gather a certain amount of votes (like for witnesses) from the community members they'll become counselors?

the council has an extra power to moderate the community they are a council in

What will be the differences between counselors and the regular members of the community? What does moderation mean in this case?

Thanks, @anonimnotoriu! Greatly appreciate it! :)

Yes, somewhat like that I have thought of. Still tentative to change but that is the most reasonable way of appointing a counselor. :)

These counselors can do "sticky" posts on community forums, flag certain post that is not show on community forums (It will still exist in the Steem blockchain but rather just hidden on the platform if flagged), and other features I'm currently brewing. :D

Just a quick update on progress.

Still currently developing the community component part and hopefully a couple of weeks from now there will be a working prototype to test. :)

Congratulation for the Idea @recrypto, I hope you'll manage to do it. I don't know if you already know about @dragosroua and it's project steem.city it seems to have similar features and maybe you'll find a way to help eachother. Also I stared to develop an Chrome plugin to organize feed content and user blog.

Hello @djvidov, thanks so much for the support. I really appreciate it. :)

No, I just have known it just now. I'll be checking at his project.

That's cool. Can you please link me to your project? :)

Dragos project link is here: http://steem.city/
My article about oSteem is here: https://steemit.com/steemdev/@djvidov/osteem-a-new-extension-for-google-chrome-browser and at this moment I don;t have in mind to create a website for it. :)

That's cool. Thanks for that. :)

Congratulation!

Great idea once again @recrypto, don't ever stop adding value to the world of web. #Cryptocurrency world would be proud of your works...steemit all the way!

Thanks! Greatly appreciate it! :)
