Working on Steem-Roller.com Faucet Stuff, Then Blah..! Missing a Cord for my Monitor Setup!

in #steemdev5 years ago

Man, if theirs one thing I fucking hate is moving house and losing stuff in the process. In tonights development endevours it came to my attention it would be really nice to set up my 3rd monitor, in order to be able to optimize my ability to quickly extract information in regards to my text editor (Atom), server console and browser with the app being worked on open as I plonk away at getting the new upcoming Steem-Roller.com v0.7.3 faucet. As with seemingly everything being coded into the site on paper it seems like an easy implementation, but in practice is being a bit of a bastard to say the least.. Getting it to work properly, securely and bug free is going to be a battle.

Between balance checking multiple accounts, calculating payout amounts, setting timers and transferring STEEM via the faucet to players requesting it the faucet function on the site is certainly a little bit busy for sure. Although its my suspicion that once the new version of Steem-Roller.com drops and the faucet is enabled we may see a spike in players as they flock to the site in order to reap the benefits of the FREE STEEM payouts they can receive every 5 minutes dictated by the amount they have wagered and amount of bets they have done. We may also see a spike in investors as well, as players flock to build up their faucet amounts and perhaps losing STEEM in the process.

Of course, when rifling through things still packed away in boxes looking for the cable to hook up my 3rd monitor it seems to have grown fucking legs and walked away or something. While not a "rare" or "expensive" piece of course as luck would have it they don't seem to stock anything like it locally in town, granted I'm too broke at the moment to afford one anyways. Guess I'll dump everything out of these boxes and search one more time before I bite the bullet and order one when I can afford it.. FML

First world problems I know.. But damn, as if moving wasn't bad enough ending up losing things in the process of doing so, is a pet peeve. Nobody to blame but myself in the end for not keeping closer tabs on it while I was moving.. sure be kick ass though if I could have all 3 of these monitors fired up and going in order to have seamless surveillance & monitoring over all aspects of my development work tonight. Wish me luck on finding the damn thing so I don't have to buy another one.

Could you do this for a Steem token?

Not exactly sure what you mean?

The site is currently in a beta stage and uses STEEM only at the moment..

As for adding STEEM tokens to Steem-roller.com and allowing them to be bet, it is planned for future versions.. But is likely a long ways / version 2.0.0 type function for the site.. So would be in the later part of next year or something.

Or do you mean can you purchase the cord with STEEM? In that case not directly, but would have to convert STEEM to Bitcoin then to Paypal funds in order to purchase the cord from newegg.ca.

Really cool faucet, I didn't know it exists until now. Need to go back and gamble a bit on your site again ;).

Does the amount one can clain reset regulary? Is it sustainable for you or do you think you will lower the max claimable amount or even completely disable it?

It's still under development.

The faucet will only pay out when it has funds.. And anyone will be able to tip the "FAUCET" account in order to fill it up and share STEEM with others. I'll try my best to keep the thing with enough balance to keep people getting paid out and playing. The amount of bets and STEEM wagered to get a full 1 STEEM every 5 minutes is pretty high number. So not terribly worried about people maxxing out the STEEM payouts every 5 minutes.

If it needs to be toned down in the future it will be.. This is still very much a beta testing / development stage, seeing what works and what doesn't. Faucet will be enabled in the next update which is v0.7.3.

The faucet claim amount does not reset. The whole idea behind it is to get people to bet in order to grow their ability to cash out larger amounts on the faucet. :)

Sounds good! Looking forward to the release :)!
