Steem Sisters in the WILD // Our Thoughts from the Third and FINAL Day of the Steem Creators Conference in Las Vegas + Pictures!
Hey Guys!
I'm back in Bellingham, WA writing this post and reflecting on an amazing weekend. My sister @maryjaney and I filmed our final Steem Creators recap video in the Las Vegas airport right before heading out!
I was a little worried about background noise/audio quality since we were in the airport - but we played around with using the microphone a little differently and I'm actually really happy with how the audio turned out!
This was such an incredible weekend of connecting with amazing people. One thing @maryjaney said leaving the conference was how cool it felt to be in a room full of engaged, intelligent, kind, and fun people. It was really an amazing group and there was a great mix of learning from each other, connecting, and having a super fun time in the evenings.
Today's Highlights
Here is a brief overview from today! We go a little deeper into each topic in the video.
First of all, I was so sad to miss a few presentations this morning. We really tried to make every session during the whole weekend - but getting up early was just not in the cards for us this morning! We may or may not have been out until 2:30am last night doing karaoke with the gang!
The Pitch party was a great success. It was basically like shark-tank, but with crypto and nicer people. There were a mix of people in the audience that presented their ideas (hoping to get funding) and also some people that live streamed into the conference. There were so many incredible ideas and I really enjoyed hearing all of the different projects people are building on the Steem blockchain.
They handed out some awards from the conference as well! We had to leave around 3:30pm to catch our flight, and so we missed this segment - but before leaving they let us know that @maryjaney won an award! She won the "Best After Hours Participant"! This was seriously well deserved. It was so fun to see Mary get out of her comfort zone and push herself. She was the one that really got everyone out on the dance floor on Friday night and she literally brought the HOUSE DOWN with her karaoke performance on Saturday night! She is planning to post video from this on her channel soon - so watch for that!
I also had a ladies lunch with the fellow founders of the @museproject today! We had a lovely time connecting and brainstorming for the project. I have video of the Women's Panel from the conference that I'll be sharing later this week - so stay tuned for more information! We also had a great time filming a video for the muse project channel while we were all together.
Lastly, @maryjaney and I were interviewed by Iris of @hyperfundit. We had SO much fun getting to know her this weekend and it was a total joy to speak with her on camera. Check out their page to see that video coming soon! You can also learn more about Hyper Fund it on their page as well. They are basically looking to bring crowdfunding (like Kickstarter) to the Steem Blockchain. I loved hearing more about their project this weekend and seeing how they are already helping to raise money for worthy causes.

We were both rocking our new Steemit hats, which were handmade by the @gardenofeden crew! We both LOVE them.
Also... is that a #goldmoney appearance I see? Mary brought @goldmatter's T-shirt Tour to Vegas by rockin the shirt today!

WOW... this was an absolutely unforgettable weekend. I cannot thank the whole @steemcafe crew enough for everything they did.
I will be posting a video of my presentation in the next day or two! I am so excited to share this with you guys and I really hope you have enjoyed following along with @maryjaney and I as we share our experiences from each day. For now, this will wrap up our Steem Sisters in the WILD segment... and we will resume the usual content from our show later this week.

Haha I did... but I don’t know if I will share it! Karaoke isn’t my strong point... I’m way more comfortable with an instrument in my hand. 😜

How do you access your steemit account while travelling? I use eSteem right now, but i am not very content with the features. I suppose you use your mobile phone to be up to date and not your Laptop?
Great question! I did actually pack some gear such as my laptop, microphone, a small light, etc. I knew I wanted to do these video recap videos in Vegas, so it was worth it. That actually might be in interesting post idea... showing exactly what gear I brought for making content while traveling. Thanks for the idea! 😊

That would seriously next level!! Hmm that’s got me thinking that we might need to eventually have a real logo, not just a Bitmoji mashup that I made and we could order shirts/ hats etc. Not nearly as bad-ass as a Mene ring... but it got me thinking! Hehe

Thanks for the support @onelovedtube! 😀 We had a lot of fun making these recap videos everyday of the conference! It was nice to reflect back on everything while it was still fresh.
Who knows... maybe you can join us next year! It was awesome to have @reseller here sharing knowledge and talking about #onelovedtube. Even though I’m not always the most active discord member, I did recommend a lot of people join it that I met this weekend! It’s such an awesome community and a great resource for those interested in posting on Dtube.
