1Co 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

The Bible is always diametrically opposite the ways of the world. True love does not seek its own way. Does not seek its own pleasure over the happiness or at the expense of others, Jesus said that He came to serve, not to be served. Imagine the Eternal God who became flesh, putting on a apron and washing the feet of His disciples. Jesus said the greatest in His Kingdom would be a servant of them all.

Seems even the Church is not reading these verses.

The Bible describes the day we live in.

2Ti 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

People loving their own selves and their own pleasure rather than loving God and loving others.

Our text shows love, does not seek its own way.

Imagine if Jesus sought His Own way. There would have been no cross and no redemption for mankind.

Joh 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Joh 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Love does not seek its own, but what is best for others. Not just the people who can pay us back, but seeking the best of everyone over our own comfort. This is what Jesus did! He set the bar high! This is where we are also to aim!

I know as a missionary in a very poor country, there are some nights where the Spirit of God has me up all night in prayer for people I don’t even know. People I have not yet met! People that could never repay me.

One night, around 11 PM, I got a text from a mother who was an overseas Filipino worker. She was in Dubai, but her 17 year old daughter was in my town, diagnosed with an incurable disease. Her daughter lay in a hospital bed and could not walk because of this illness. Her mother asked if I would go to the hospital, visit and pray for her daughter. I took the burden like it was my own daughter lying there in that hospital bed. I did not sleep the entire night, but prayed for that girl.

I am not bragging on myself or even attracting attention to me. I am nothing without Jesus. Without Him I am selfish and self centered!

God told me three things about this girl. One of them was, “I will heal her today!” He said He was going Friday Heal her as I went to pray for her! Wow, I was going to witness and be part of a miracle! Life in Christ is Amazing!

“Ordinary people walking with an Extraordinary God!”

To make a longer story shorter. God healed this 17 year old girl and she walked that day and the specialist gave her clean bill of health.

Let’s endeavor to be like Jesus and love. Meaning not to seek our own way.
