A fundamental attribute of the Christian faith which we are to have and depict is the act of humility. But first off, let us clear off and understand what humility is.
Some people have the general misconception that being humble means thinking less of yourself. This is a faulty form of understanding what it means. To be humble does not mean I am less of a human being than another person.
What then is Humility?
Humility simply can be surmised to be the absence of pride and arrogance in a person. Now this does not demean the person in any way, it does not make the person less than what he is, it does not mean that he is thinking less of himself but rather that he thinks of himself less.
Now I know that sounded a bit confusing but let me explain further, it simply means that though I recognize the fact that I have my plans in life, I would rather choose to listen to God’s plan for my life. If we take our time to analyze each character in the bible, there seems to be one thing that they all developed and that is humility. It can be seen from the story of Abraham down to Moses, who was known as the meekest person of his time, to David, who despite his atrocities went to God with a contrite and repentant heart, down to our Lord Jesus Christ, who we can clearly see how he placed the will of his Father over his.
All throughout the bible, various men of God were noted for this trait, how then can we be humble in our lives?
We can develop this trait by prioritizing the will of God in our lives over ours, we can show it in the little things around us. The book of proverbs is full of advices, telling young people to be humble and telling them of the repercussions of being self-centered rather than submissive to the will of God.
Proverbs 3:34
He mocks proud mockers but shows favor to the humble and oppressed.Proverbs 11:2
When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.Proverbs 18:12
Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.Proverbs 22:4
Humility is the fear of the LORD; its wages are riches and honor and life.Proverbs 27:2
Let someone else praise you, and not your own mouth; an outsider, and not your own lips.
A list of verses where Humility is emphasized. The emphasis placed on humility cannot be overemphasized. And we would do well, as members of the #steemchurch to adhere to the advice given to us.
So in conclusion we all should strive to be humble in every area of our lives and the Lord will definitely lift us up.

Humility is a quality that Gd appreciates seeing in his followers. When we are humble, we become an appealing sight to people out there. Proverbs 11:2 you quoted help us to see that wisdom can easily be gotten when we are humble, while on the other hand pride comes before a fall. Pride can fail us at any time. Thanks for sharing.
Humility begins with a sense of subordination to God in Christ. “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his master” ( Matthew 10:24 ). “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God” ( 1 Peter 5:6 ).
Many people have the wrong idea about God, the Bible and humility, or being humble. They think being humble means groveling in front of others or thinking they are no good and others are better.
That’s not what the Bible says. God says when you are humble, you are free from pride and arrogance. You know that in your flesh you are inadequate, yet you also know who you are in Christ.
Like the saying goes pride goes before a fall, likewise humility uplifts you, there is a certain grace that goes along with being humble.
The bible said righteousness exhalted a nation but sin is a reproach, likewise Jesus also said,,that whoever is proud shall be humbled and whoever is humbled shall be uplifted.
Moses was considered the meekest man to ever live,
That's why as Christians we must strive hard to be humble, we must kill the spirit of pride and allow God all the glory for anything we've achieved in life.

People often wonder humility means or what is the definition of humility. In the Bible, humility or humbleness is a quality of being courteously respectful of others. It is the opposite of aggressiveness, arrogance, boastfulness, and vanity. Rather than, "Me first," humility allows us to say, "No, you first, my friend." Humility is the quality that lets us go more than halfway to meet the needs and demands of others.
Friendships and marriages are dissolved over angry words. Resentments divide families and co-workers. Prejudice separates race from race and religion from religion. Reputations are destroyed by malicious gossip. Greed puts enmity between rich and poor. Wars are fought over arrogant assertions.
Humility as a virtue is a major theme of both the Old and New Testaments. Why do qualities such as courtesy, patience and deference have such a prominent place in the Bible? It is because a demeanor of humility is exactly what is needed to live in peace and harmony with all persons. Humility dissipates anger and heals old wounds. Humility allows us to see the dignity and worth of all God's people. Humility distinguishes the wise leader from the arrogant power-seeker.
Do not be disrespectful to Gods will. Be always dedidicated to almighty God to do his will ,Jonah wanted to hide and rain away fro work of God but God showed him that he God is the creator of the universe and he has the will to do anything .

This is what I call humility.
One who is virtuous will always see humility as a must-have quality. Humility elevates us to the heavenly and causes promotion in our place of work. What elevates you faster than expected is humility. A man or WOMAN who is humble is really one to reckon with
