SteemChurch: Humor in the bible?

in #steemchurch6 years ago (edited)
Normally we tend to think that the Bible is too emphatic and boring a book. Hahahaha nothing to see. If you look at it with a little attention you will discover that it has very funny parts, and that surely Jesus and his apostles had a great time.

I will quote one of many parts of the Bible as examples for not making this publication very long and you can have fun and laugh, part that I find quite funny when I read it, I mean, it's funny, but Jesus was not a comedian or much less humorist, I mean? It was the son of God made man, neither more nor less. He came to save us, not for fun. But on the way he had fun, yes, hahaha.

Let's go there.

In the gospel according to Matthew chapter. 2.1-12 There is the following story of a Paralyzed Man which was carried by his friends. Jesus, knowing all things, even the thoughts of the paralytic, of the friends of the paralytic and of the scribes, says to the paralytic lying in bed, waiting for Jesus to say he is healthy, instead he says: paralytic man Have encouragement, son; your sins are forgiven. I imagine the face of the paralytic and the friends.

And in parallel the face of the Scribes furious. Then some of the scribes said within themselves: This blasphemer.

Later we observe Jesus saying the following: Why do you think badly in your hearts? And he performs the following question and all the others in silence and in the expectation of a sermon or the continuation of a warning. He tells them, what is easier, to say: The sins are forgiven, or to say: Get up and walk? For you know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins (then says to the paralytic): Get up, take your bed, and go home.

Then he got up and went home. Hahahaha I imagine the face of the scribe in the instant that the paralytic gets up.

And then they tell me that the Bible has no humor. Please! if God must have a formidable sense of humor.

Out of jokes, humor is a sweet thing that is sometimes taken in small sips; Sometimes, in industrial quantities, we are happy for a whole day or a whole week. And boy, is it important? And I have no doubt that God has his humor. The reflections of our face, stomach and throat when we laughed, no one showed them to us: we were born knowing how to laugh, because I believe that laughter keeps the echo of a deeper voice in our interior, the trace of who made us ... that yes he knows how to laugh, he is fully happy, with the eternal happiness for which we sigh.

If you encourage me with your comments I tell you about other stories in the bible that in my opinion has its humorous side. Hahaha, may God continue to bless you and may the Holy Spirit fill you with wisdom and revelation from on high. Amen

And behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, be of good cheer; thy sins are forgiven. And behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? For which is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven; or to say, Arise, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority on earth to forgive sins (then saith he to the sick of the palsy), Arise, and take up thy bed, and go unto thy house. 7 And he arose, and departed to his house. But when the multitudes saw it, they were afraid, and glorified God, who had given such authority unto men.
Matthew 9:2-8

I think the LORD of hosts also has a knack for sarcastic wit very memorably through His prophet, Elijah.

1 Kings 18:27 KJVS
And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.

I believe I read that the pursuing is essentially alluding to Baal being on the crapper. Now, that's funny.

Sick burn. Seems like in 1 Kings, God is able to deal it metaphorically and literally. Wow. 🔥

There are many stories in the scriptures that when we look at it from a broad perspective we see its funny side, thank you for taking time to read my publication, I hope you laughed it was the intention.

Yes! :-) God is in such a better mood than those people think he is! He has a smile on his face! :-) he is the inventor of humor! :-) he is the source of Joy! :-) God has the best sense of humor ever! The more I get to know him the more I come to learn that he is a lot funnier and a lot more enjoyable than most people think he is. He is not boring! :-) lol! :-) like you were saying, Jesus is not boring like people think he is! :-) Jesus was anointed with the oil of Joy more than his other companions! :-) Psalm 45 7.

It's a good thing you've enjoyed yourself just as I wrote it.

Definitivamente nuestro señor Jesús es lo mejor que nos ha podido pasar. Saludos mi estimado.
