GRATITUDE(Luke 17:11-19)

As the saying goes "when a child appreciates someone for what they did for him yesterday,he will receive more." It pays to show gratitude.

Gratitude means showing appreciation,giving thanks to somebody. Jesus taught us to always appreciate because even the person that did it will be more happy and ready to give else next time.

When we are given something,we show appreciation even when we see the person a week or more,we still thank the person for what he did the other day. But to some people,they see it as not necessary in thanking,but they forget that next time will show and they would expect to receive but will be disappointed.

In our Bible text,an example is given there,ten lepers came to Jesus and He told them to go and show themselves to the priests which they did and they were healed. But only one came back to show gratitude.

There,Jesus was surprised to see only him and He asked him this **"Were there not ten that was cleansed?where are the remaining nine?.(Vs 17)

If we have to look at this,two things are clarified;
Jesus was surprised
The one who came back to show gratitude went home,fully blessed.

Let's see it this way,The other nine lepers,though they were healed but were not perfectly healed just like the other one who came to thank Jesus after he was healed. Perhaps,the sickness can still re-appear.

We should examine ourselves if we aren't cultivating the habit of showing gratitude to people even to God.

Some people,when they need something that is when they go to God for help,and when He has done it,they forget to thank Him.

God is never tired of doing good but it is human beings that make God not to be happy and seeing them as an ungrateful being.

Everyday of our lives,we should give thanks to God because that is what He needs from His Children. When we are asleep,He keep watch over us throughout the night,but when we wake up,we only jump out of bed,take our bath and get dressed,ready for work. Not a single thank you Lord can proceed from our mouth,God is recording all.

Don't you know that not showing gratitude to someone can make the person not wanting to do next time. That is also in the case of God. If we think we can outsmart God,we are only deceiving ourselves.

When we show gratitude to God,He will be happy and will want to do more without you asking.
