STEEMCHURCH TODAY'S REFLECTION 17:01:2019 - A Profitable Provocation
Love Agape to all Brothers and Sisters the SteemChurch!
Introduction
The word "provocation" is an action or speech that makes someone angry, especially when done deliberately. In fact, it is always a better option not to respond to provocation.
How then can provocation be profitable? Read carefully 1 Samuel 1: 1-19
Biblical Scenario
The story in the above passage of the scripture centers around an unknown family in a small rural village of Ramathaim-zophim. There was nothing too unusual about this family until one of the wives of Mr. Elkanah Jeroham known as "Peninnah" began to provoke and taunt the other one called "Hannah" due to her childlessness.
This moved Hannah to serious prayers to ask God for a son after many years of somewhat acceptance of her husbands consolatory love anthem of " Am I no better to thee than ten sons". Untill her provocation, Hannah never understood that "a husband is a husband, a son is a son". Besides, the chemistry of a mother cuddling a baby is different from a wife embracing her husband.
Due to the provocation, that year's visit to Shiloh was never like the routine of the past for Hannah when she feels the hurting the words of Peninah reminding her of her childlessness/fruitlessness. Hannah took a decision similar to that of Esther after Mordecai had in a way provoked her as recorded in Esther 4: 15.
God wouldn't pass Hannah by after such moment of brokenness and prayers out of her provocation. Lo! Hannah became a happy mother of a baby boy nine months later and it was an awesome experience to visit Shiloh the next year for the dedication and offering of the boy - Samuel.

Lord, send me a profitable provocation today, for my comfort zone is becoming uncomfortable.

As God's people with Christ in our lives and hearts, we know that we should not fall into fields that do not edify us and that do not result in something positive. The demonstration that the positive can come out of the negative demonstrates our great faith and our heart and spirit strengthened in God

Profitable provocation ... that story of Ana was my inspiration when I was sterile. Medical science said that it was almost impossible, it provoked me and activated my faith and I became pregnant one month later. Thanks for your support UY
