STEP THREE: LEARN TO PRAY
STEP FOUR: LEARN TO BELIEVE
STEP FIVE: LEARN TO WORSHIP
Today we would be looking at the Sixth step For Spiritual Growth which is: LEARN TO GIVE.
In quest for spiritual development we have to learn the secret of giving. The Church needs a general overhaul on this subject to keep from becoming unbalanced.
Some people have gone to one extreme in their giving. They only give because they feel its their duty or obligation (which, of course, it is).
But because that's the only reason they give into the Kingdom of God, they miss the blessing giving can be in their lives.
You should give to the Lord because you love Him, worship Him, and adore Him. And you need to add faith to your giving.
Tell the Lord you are mixing Faith with your giving, and remind Him of the scripture:
Give and it shall be given unto you: good measure, pressed down and shaken together, and running over, shall men give unto your bosom. For with the same measure that he mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Luke 6:38

On the other hand, you can go to the other extreme. You can give selfishly just to get a return--- and you won't get one.
Some people hear a faith teacher relate how he gave away an automobile and God gave him another one.
Then they give theirs away and think, Now God is going to give me a new car. But He won't.
You see, their motive is all wrong. Its selfish. And its based on another persons experience, not on the Word.
You have got to examine your motive for giving and keeping your motive right. You can do the right thing with the wrong motive, and it won't work.
Certainly we expect God to keep His word when we give. And He will, too, if we fulfill our part of the obligation.
We should not give just because someone else did, we should only give to please the Lord and because He told us to. Then because we obeyed God. He would bless our obedience.
We need balance in this area of giving. If we will keep our motives pure and give according to the Word and the Holy Spirit's leading, we will be blessed in our own lives and we will grow in our Christian walk.

It is more blessed to give than to receive. Givers never lack. Apart from giving material things, one can also give prayers, time, attention, information, etc.

I wish to add here that giving is one of the ways we prove that we love. God gave Christ to us when He professed to love us. While love is a constant expectation of every believer, may we always yield ourselves to the Holy Spirit to instruct us on what and how to give.

Thanks for always reminding us aabout this things. Many seem to be forgetting the real essence of life.
Giving is a very vital aspect of living. There are lots of blessings attached to giving. If only some people will know, they wouldn't be waiting to be persuaded before giving.
Let's learn to affect the lives of others too. No one has ever been poor by giving. You can only get richer and wealthier when you give. We shouldn't feel that when we give out, what we had will get exhausted. No! It will keep increasing.
Giving is living. God gave so when can't we give.

Well written! Giving does a lot of things. One thing about giving is when you give having in mind that the person will return the favour then you've missed it. LIke you rightly said, we should give because God has commended us to give and only Him only will reward us.

Pray everyday
Read the Bible everyday
Go to church regularly
Grow in obedience
Listen to Bible based Christian music. It will feed you spiritually
