Luke 10:30-36

30.And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

31.And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

32.And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.

33.But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

34.And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

35.And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

36.Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

Parable is an earthly story with heavenly meaning. Christ during it earthly ministry spoke in parable to his disciples in order to use earthly things to interpret the things in heaven. Most of the time after Christ teaching, his disciples will meet with him in secret for the interpretationpixabay
The lesson to be learnt in the parable of the good Samaritan is so enormous and also an example for many to learn from. The teaching straight and the interpretation simple. Below is a list of the great teaching.

Christ illustrated this parable, as a result of a lawyer who came to tempt Him by asking Him 'WHO IS MY NEIGHBOR '

LESSON FROM THE PARABLE OF THE GOOD SAMARITAN

1. LOVE

In the story we could see how genuine love was demonstrated by the Samaritan person. Out of the three individual who saw the wounded victim, the least person who will have less show love was the person who show the genuine love. Our neighbors is not just the next person behind close doors or in the same compound that we live, but to everyone who is in need of our help.

1. COMPASSION

The Samaritan man before showing the heart of love first had compassion on the wounded person. He practically forget about the journey he has embarked on but having a compassionate heart by doing what is needful. Having a compassionate heart for others will make us think less of our own and to see other people's problems as our.

1. CHARITY

The attitude of charity was display by the good Samaritan man. In verse 35

And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them the host, and he said unto him, take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

The good Samaritan never left the wounded person alone, but after his treatment he is willing to cater for any extra money spend on treatment. Heart of love, compassion and charity could be seen clearly in the story of the good Samaritan.

Although there are other lessons which could be seen clearly which was exhibited by the Priest and the Levite but with bad attitude towards the person they should have help. Let our heart of love to others know no bounds.
