The same God with His Infinite Character revealed in the many Names. Each one significant and amazing. We are finite and He is Infinite. He reveals Himself and His Character to those who seek after Him.

There are over 900 Names of God listed in the Bible. Many are a variation of another, but each shows something unique about the Infinite Endless God without beginning and without end.

Jehovah Jireh

Today we will take a well known Name of God. In Genesis, God revealed Himself to Abraham as the God Who provides or the Lord Who sees.

Gen 22:14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

Strongs Concordance shows this Word or Name of God is only used once in the entire bible.

From H3068 and H7200; Jehovah will see (to it); Jehovah-Jireh, a symbolical name for Mt. Moriah: - Jehovah-jireh.

“In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.”

This is the same place where Jesus was Crucified many years later.

God Will Provide Himself

Gen 22:7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
Gen 22:8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

Isaac had seen his father sacrifice to Jehovah before. “Hey day, I see the wood and the fire, but where is the Lamb?”

God provided this Lamb at the very same place. Jesus Christ the Lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the World.

God sees the need and provides. Jehovah Jireh.

Once again look at our text.

“In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.”

In this Mount you will see it. Prophetically speaking of the sacrifice that would take place here as God “provides HIMSELF a Lamb.

God left heaven and provided Himself an offering for our sins.
