2Co 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

I just ended a series and will hopefully start another soon. Today we will take a look at how we must renew our minds, our words and even thoughts, if we plan to live life as God has designed. I met a young mother years ago who had walked away from her 5 year old daughter because of crack cocaine and guilt. When she was high was the only time she did not think about her guilt. The drugs numbed her guilt. But whenever she was sober, the guilt would return and the guilt would drive her back to the drugs and the cycle went on and on for many years.

For us to live for God in our fullest potential, we must be free from the past guilt.

Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

IN THE BODY OF CHRIST WE ARE THE ONLY ARMY THAT KILLS THEIR WOUNDED.

After we offer our faith and confession before God, He forgives us and gives us a fresh start like we never have sinned. He imputes to us His Own Righteousness and it is the Christ mindedness that motivates us and allows us to live right. The guilt will drive us back to sin or at the minimum take away our motivation to live right for God.

The best thing for us to do when someone falls, is to remind them of who they are in Christ. A new creation. The righteousness of God in Christ. Forgiven and made clean. Saints and not sinners.

2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
2Pe 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
2Pe 1:6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
2Pe 1:7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
2Pe 1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2Pe 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
2Pe 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

We have a choice to remind people of their guilt or to remind them of who they are in Christ. The latter is the best and most productive choice.
