Job 1:1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

Job is one of those books that many don’t like to read. He suffered greatly and he was also a good and righteous man. Some think that our faith is just to provide a good life for ourselves, but this sort of faith is shallow and usually fails to stand when times get tough. Job had a very difficult time, so difficult his own wife suggested to him to , “Curse God and die”. I don’t know the story of how Job came to be such a man of faith, but his faith was real and stood up to his test and he remained true to his faith and his God. In the Old Testament, there is nobody that suffered as greatly as Job. Job was also rewarded for his faithfulness.

Jesus

Jesus suffered more than any person in all of history. He was the most righteous and yet suffered the most. Job received a blessing for his faithfulness and so did Jesus. Job interceded for his friends and the Bible says of Jesus that “He ever lives to intercede”. Job offered sacrifice to God for himself and for others. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice and He did this, not for Himself, but for the world

Jesus and Job had a faith that was deeper than just having a smooth life.

Jas 5:11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

Faithful Job
Job 1:21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
Job 1:22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

Job Interceding for others
Job 42:8 Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.

Job is blessed for his faithfulness
Job 42:10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Jesus

The purpose of His suffering to bring wholeness to others
Act 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

He lives to Intercede for us.

Heb 7:24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
Heb 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Jesus after His Suffering raises from the dead to suffer no more
Act 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
Act 2:32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
Act 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

The parallels are many between Job and Jesus
