An Intentional Life, Inspired by Jesus Christ!

The life of Jesus, among many other things, inspires us to live in a disciplined and absolutely intentional way. All the stories about our Lord show how He made choices that expressed the love and character of God forged in Him through a life of constant prayer and deep intimacy with the Father.

The Bible tells us that Jesus deliberately "passed away doing good and healing all oppressed by the devil" (Acts 10:38). In San Marcos, chapter 5, verses 21-43 we read the story of two stories that have no relation to each other, if it were not for the fact that Jesus chose to change the reality of those people. On the way to the house of Jairus, Jesus is touched by the woman with the flow of blood, who was healed at the moment of his act of faith, that is, at the moment he touched His garments. The story would end there, but Jesus wanted to know who, in the midst of the crowd, had touched him.

"Then, the woman, frightened and trembling, aware of what had taken place in her, came, prostrated herself before him and declared the whole truth to him, and he said to her: Daughter, your faith has saved you, you go in peace and you remain free of your evil (Mark 5.33-34)

Jesus, then, in an act of compassion, reaffirms the healing and dismisses that free woman to live a new and so desired reality. He did not need to have done it, but by choosing to honor that woman's faith, Jesus also made public his testimony to those who accompanied him. How powerful it is, after all, "the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy" (Revelation 19.10b)

Finally, upon arriving at the house of Jairus, Jesus was quick to remove from that family those who did not believe in the possibility of manifestation of a miracle. This not only safeguarded the faith of that father, but also protected the anointing. And the result could not have been other:

"Taking her by the hand, she said: Talitá cumi, which means:" Girl, I am sending you, get up! "Immediately the girl got up and began to walk" (Mc 5,41-42).

A life with a purpose begins with the decision to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and our neighbor as ourselves (Matthew 22, 37-40). This means that we need to develop a lifestyle in which everything we do is a consequence of that love - of the simplest options, which we sometimes do automatically. (For example, what words will we use in a conversation, what will we wear ...). Even the most complex options (eg where we are going to live, with whom we relate).

An intentional life also means being good stewards of what the Lord has given us: gifts and talents, time, financial and material resources, relationships and the ability to influence those who participate in our coexistence. The way we handle each of these things speaks a lot about where our heart is.

My prayer is that in all things, the lift before going to bed each day, we make decisions that reveal the character, mind and heart of the Father to all of creation, which "expects the manifestation of the children of God" (Romans 08:19).
