Then devil left Jesus and behold angels came and ministered to Him (Matthew 4: 11)

Do you know that this year, Angels of God are on assignment for you? They would be sent by God to minister to you in various times and in various ways this year. My job in this devotion is to put you on notice concerning this gracious privilege you and I have as a children of God.
Angels relate to us as ministering spirits, sent forth on assignment to us, to minister to us for our good as heirs of salvation (Heb 1: 14). So in that position, they observe us and watch over us always (Psalm 34: 7). A fact which should motivates us to watch our conduct and actions well every day.
I don't want you to be weird here. You are not going to see some creatures that look like extra terrestrial beings with wings and shining faces talking to you. That is not the picture the Bible paints for us. Yes angels are spirits, but power is given to them to become visible in the semblance of human form and likeness (Gen 18: 1, 2, 22, Gen 19: 1 -17). So what you would see and meet are normal human beings who would come your way and help advance a cause in your life for good. But they are actually angels who just appeared as human beings. The Bible gives us classic examples. That of Abraham, and Lot. Also Elijah had assistance that way (1 Kings 19: 5). This angel even prepared food for him, when the man of God was at his lowest point, and wishing to die. Daniel was protected by an angel when he was thrown into the Lions den. And Peter was set free when Herod imprisoned him (Acts 12: 7 -10). One encounter in my life was shortly I started my ministry, my wife has returned from work and was parking her car. And she saw through the driving mirror a man standing behind her car. She got out of the car and about to go when the man called her. The man asked her, where her husband was. She said he has gone to work. Then the man asked her, do you know your husband is a good man. She said yes, she knows. Then the man said, tell your husband he should to do the work God has put in his hand well and God will bless him. My wife thanked him and walked away to go. After three steps, she turned around to look at this white strange man again and the man had vanished! She became afraid. When she related the incident to me, I knew it was an angelic visitation as I have listened to similar incidents of angelic assignment to people.

So what should be our response to this? The Bible counsels us to be nice and hospitable to strangers, for some people in doing so have entertained and encountered angels without knowing it (Heb 14: 2). I believe the writer of Hebrews had the incidents of Abraham and Lot in mind who actually were hosting angels in their homes unknowingly.
So as you go through the year and live life, know that angels are on assignment, and they are sent from God to minister to your needs and to advance you in life this year.
May you not miss your assigned angels this year and may you be elevated by their help and ministration in Jesus name. Amen
