Moving in our body parts.

Locomotive movement

Locomotive movements are fundamental movement which involves the movement of the body from one place to another.
Examples of locomotive movement are: walking, running, skipping, sliding, hopping, jumping, leaping and galloping.

1. Walking: This is the movement of the body forward, backward, sideways with our legs.
   

2. Running: This is moving the legs more frequently and quickly in a regular manner.
   

3. Skipping: This is making quick steps and jump.
   

4. Sliding:
   This is to move the body forward without lifting the legs. Sliding can be done on wet or slippery surface.

5. Hopping: This is making short forward jump on both legs at the same time. Hopping can be done forward, sideways, and backward.
   

6. Jumping: This is the moving of the whole body quickly off the ground for a moment and landing on one or both legs.

7. Leaping: This is a big jump forward on both legs at the same time. We can leap for heights and distance.
   

Non-locomotive movement.

Non-locomotive movement doesn’t involve movement from one place to another.

Example of Non-locomotive movement are:

Stretching, swimming, bending, twisting, pushing, polling, dodging.

1. Stretching: This involve moving various parts of the body by straightening the muscles.

2. Bending: This is moving all the upper parts of the body up and down from the waist.

3. Twisting: This is moving the upper part of the body from the waist around without moving the legs.

4. Swinging: It is done by moving a part of the body or the whole body in a circle.

5. Pulling: It is done by moving an object towards oneself.

6. Pushing: This is done by moving an object with force away from oneself.
