Obey fully the voice of the Lord
Text:1Samuel 15:22
"But Samuel replied:Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice,and to heed is better than the fat of rams"
The basic English bible explains it this way
“And Samuel said, Has the Lord as much delight in offerings and burned offerings as in the doing of his orders? Truly, to do his pleasure is better than to make offerings, and to give ear to him than the fat of sheep
Many Christians obey God when it comes to fornication,drunkenness and murder but forget about bribery,honesty,forgiveness etc.
Saul attacked the Amalekites just us God Commanded,but contrary to God's instruction ,he decided on his own to bring their King alive. He also spared the sheep,cattle and fat calves for sacrifice.
Our Lord does not delight in sacrifices but rather obedience. As Christians, let us fully obey the voice of the Lord.
Obedience comes with blessings, it comes with promise from above, Obedience produce results. Obedience portrays humility hence it brings promotion.
Ephesians 6:1-3
[1]CHILDREN, OBEY your parents in the Lord [as His representatives], for this is just and right.
[2]Honor (esteem and value as precious) your father and your mother–this is the first commandment with a promise–[Exod. 20:12.]
[3]That all may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth.
Thought:Fully obey the voice of the Lord.
