Updated wiki pages, including “In the News” with 10 links of 2018, and first January's collaborators

Hi steemians! We are happy to announce many created and updated wiki articles, some of them in Arabic, Galician and Italian language. The “In the News” wiki page list was created with 10 links from blogs and news sites. Check it if you are interested:

Included in the list, the article from CryptoSlate already mentioned Steemit side by side the Mark Zuckerberg's personal challenge post published yesterday, when the Facebook founder and CEO pointed encryption and cryptocurrency as his focus in 2018.

By the way, browsing the 2017 In the News lists we can find other third party sites citing Facebook, cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies: Newsweek, Seeking Alpha and OYE News. In June 2017 steemian Josh Enomoto (@bullishmoney) had his Steemit ethusiastic but agressive article against the social media corporate giant reproduced in InvestorPlace, Nasdaq, MSN Money and Yahoo! News.

Beyond this new wiki page, we had many other pages updated you can take a look at, just click in the Recent Changes. We also made some little changes in the welcome page, check it and recommend if you like: http://www.steem.center

All these editions are results from the work of 5 returning collaborators - @crokkon, @gazetagaleguia, @stella87s, @vitkolesnik, @wagnertamanaha - and one first time participant: @develcuy. As suggested in the rules improvements proposal, this year we started to upvote all participant's posts with a voting power of 50%. Welcome and thank you very much again!

We also have one new user registration: @as31‎. We hope you could start collaborating to join the group with the rights to receive STEEM rewards after creating, translating or updating pages in the wiki.

As celebrated in our post published in January first - Happy New Year! 2018 - First anniversary of our project to support Steem.center as the wiki of all things Steem. - in this year we invite you to continue transforming Steem.center in a complete and open platform of collective knowledge that could be helpful to all steemians, from newcomers to advanced users and developers.

Project's Balance

Now we have 94.513 STEEM in our wallet, a little bit different from what we did in 2017, the amount of 60% of all STEEM collected in January - 56.707 STEEM - would be shared among this month's participants (the 5 above, until now). Check our project's rules proposed one year ago and updated recently to join us if you like. Or just upvote and resteem this post to increase the collected amount as an incentive to new participants.

You can find some proposals to start new pages in Articles for Creation and use the sandbox page to test and play wiki editions for free. We suggested some loosely guidelines and if you need just ask for a personal response in Steemit.chat #wiki channel.
