Steemit is a community that attracts capital. Investors earn from the price of their steem increasing or accummalating more steem in general. Their investment is correlated to the growth of the Steemit platform.
Debt and ownership are a form of capital that helps build the community and ultimately the value of Steem.
The two types of ownership that’s held are liquid and vesting. Liquid ownership is the Steem and Steem Dollars held in your wallet.
Vesting is Steem Power and delegations. Steem Power grants its owner exclusive powers within the Steemit platform.
15% of the yearly inflation is paid to Steem Power(SP) holders as interest. It takes 13 weeks to power down your Steem Power (SP).
You are paid out weekly until you receive all 13 payments or cancel the power down.
Steem Dollars were designed to bring stability to the world of cryptocurrency and for the Steemians who use the Steem network.
Witnesses are charged with the responsibility of publishing price feeds. A witness popularity and reputation of publishing accurate price feeds are reasons to vote for your witnesses. Their community contribution also contributes to who a Steemian will vote for.
Steem is designed to minimize fraudulent feeds. Steem uses the median price over the last 3 ½ days. The median published feed is sampled every hour on the hour 24/7/365.
