When moving from the northern hemisphere to the southern, our Christmas became rather different. We went from snowy and cold to hot and dry. People are walking around town in shorts, tshirts and sandals.
Even after 2 Christmases here, it is still weird to me that instead of having a fire to sit by on Christmas morning, we are opening all of the windows to keep cool.
The backwards seasons are something that I never thought of. Haha
my first Christmas in California when I moved there from London was depressing. While shopping for presents in Ojai and seeing everyone in shorts I said to my wife I was finding it tough to feel christmassy and she suggested that I watch movies with snow in them. I did that for a couple of days, and whadda ya know I got over it. Now twenty five years later I am able to shop for Xmas presents in shirt sleeves and shorts just lioke everybody else. Thanks for reminding me of my progress!
