This is actually a pretty interesting question. I've only been here for a week, but I'm already feeling the addiction I see so many here talk about. What I really find Steemit to be so good at is creating an engaging community. I closely follow the people who post foraging and nature posts, and so far it seems like a pretty neat community where users are sharing great tips, tricks and guides, as well as helping each other out. It's really cool to see people spend their time to help each other out!
As for a personal level, I really find it enjoyable that people read and give me feedback whenever I share cool information about stuff I'm passionate about. Whenever I talk to my friends and family about mushrooms or cool animal facts, they usually don't pay much attention. I can't say I blame them, because I have been doing this for years, and I'm sure its getting boring for them :P But in here people actually spend their time listening to what I write, and some of them even follow my profile and comment on my posts. This might not sound life-changing, and to be honest I'm not sure if it is, but I find it extremely satisfying to be able to share my passions with a bunch of people who start of as strangers, but I gradually get to know them from their posts and their comments. That is just truly amazing!
Yes, that is what I'm hoping for as well. Thanks for doing this advent calender by the way! I think it is a pretty cool way to get people engaged :) Looking forward to seeing what is coming in the calender in the next days!
