Can SBD'S Reach New All Time High's?
Recently I heard it suggested that sbd's are returning to 1$ peg. I had to think about this for a moment as the statement confused me.
SBD's already have a $1 usd peg. That's how they are created.
What happens after they are created is where the magic happens :)

The SBD starts out as 1 and grows into more than the value of 1 because it is special.
Each SBD is special.
There's a limited supply - There's only so much in circulation. It stimulates the entire steem ecosystem. It drives up the demand for steem...into Steem Power.
It is beneficial for every single steemit participant.
SBD'S are an incredibly valuable asset that plays an integral role in the steem ecosystem.
- I wonder if we will see $100 SBD's. Relative to $10 Steem or maybe $22 Steem

It seems to make a lot of sense to me:
The value creation...and overall growth in value of the Steem Ecosystem is on the verge of hitting ridiculous price level valuations. There's just so many network effects. So much strength in number. The numbers are only just starting to add up in terms of how massive this can get.
It's like trying to imagine a color that doesn't yet exist.
It's a whole new experiment in "financial literacy"...it's a life expansion exercise in powering a world economy through social media. It's kind of brilliant really.
"The Steem Machine" - This wildy awesome decentralized world economy that's easy for everyone to connect to and grow markets, within markets, within markets...within markets within markets. The potential is endless.
Perhaps eventually we hit a tipping point where the whole world knows what it means to be Rich.

Good analysis. The conversion of sbd to steem will drag down the price of sbd and increase the price of steem which is very good for the ecosystem. If left to me, the high value sbd is necessary for the new growth we are headed towards and it will be very much integral to our development

Good article, I always say that its hard to maintain the SBD at 1$ pegged.
As I am on Steemit for 3 months, I have seen the SBD price going from 1$ to 3$ daily, that tells me that the SBD has potential to go even bigger, I think another wave will come soon, I am predicting 15$ per SBD again very soon. :)
Makes me feel like unicorns, rainbows , fluffy toys and a lotta huggs :)
But seriously, though, check out your post rewards, you will see you get more SBD than Steem now. This was a tweak made by the witnesses to increase supply and drive down the price a little.

what's the reasoning behind driving down the price of the sbd a little?
I don't see why anyone would try to drive the price of sbd down, and I don't agree that this is what is being done. What might steemit gain from reducing the price of sbd?
Giving us more sbd than steem in our rewards might just be an extra way to "reward" us, you know, since sbd is more valuable, they're probably giving us more of it so that we can have more money on us. When is a better time to have sbd than when it's as valuable as this? So why not give us more, eh? 😉😉 That's exactly what they're doing.
But then, if it's true theyre trying to reduce the price of sbd in order for steem to increase and if it's true there's ever a reasoning to justify this I don't know, I've never heard of it and if I ever hear of it I'll be sure to put it through the most thorough scrutiny and criticism my head can fathom.
All the reasons I've thought up by myself to justify any deliberate reduction is just not tenable. Like, both steem and sbd are rewards from steemit, the high value of anyone of the two is surely supposed to be beneficial to steemit and it must not be one and not the other?
It's crazy when I see I made 20 sbd in a week. At ten bucks that's 800 USD a month for something I consider a hobby. I know the price dipped but wow. This is what really changed my mind about Steemit I almost quit

you might think i am wrong in this i too would love too see sbd always over dollar one but the fear is that the market supply is continuously growing the witnesses are setting their apr accordingly so that sbd could come low these two points i think will take down the price back to the dollar one mark correct me if i am wrong

do you know why the witnesses want to bring the price down?
because in steemit white paper sbd is meant to be pegged at a dollar price and should continue to do so but everything is now completely different and i think i am wrong too now and it will not always be above 1$
I believe in SBD so I will HODL !
IF SBD's will have a key role in creations of the new tokens on steem blockchain than i believe 100 in the future is possible.
And with new payment possibilities with SBD's ... That's another big reason that could raise it's price.

I'm definitely ok with it anytime..though, thinking about it maybe it will happen in 2018. In terms of what is possible, 2017 was a rather revealing year in terms of growth potential in this space. I think we are going to see some massive growth this next year. I mean we are dealing with "space ships" when we were previously just rolling around on the ground...and now we have space ships. it's incredible the way things are going. Solution oriented technology is both efficient and effective. it's brilliant.
