Hey guys,

I am @ketcom the initiator of @upvotebuilders, when I set out to launch the start of the community I never envisage someone will call it a scam. The worst of it is that most of what the person making such remark was asking for were already on the post and as a user of the platform it is believed that you understand the working of the various tools available to do a lot of thing automatically. Someone with the username @nathen007 made such remark and many more derogatory statements, I don’t think I have every come across him before yesterday, I had initially thought it would be wiser to just ignore him but let him know he could see some of the questions he asked on the post, his response showed he was having non of that, he wanted me to repeat so many things already mentioned and explain about the tools we are all already familiar with. I had to flag him because he was causing a distraction in my own view. I woke up this morning to see that he had paid a bid-bot to promote his comment thereby making it the first comment you see when you open our introductory post.

I am forced to change what I had intended posting today and make this post specifically in response to him, not as a battle contest but rather to clarify him and others he may be scaring away by his comments. @nathen007 I would hope you will take time to read this post and after much understanding delete or retract your comment. I do not have the resource to spend on bid-bot battling with you about this, I’ll rather use it to spend on leasing more SP so that members can get more benefits from their post.

First off, it is very obvious you didn't thoroughly read the first post and didn't even understand concept of what it is about because if you did some of the things you were asking about was already there.

Secondly, if you had any doubts about something, I think for a start you ask questions politely and await a response to your questions. If the response doesn’t go down well with you then you can pass judgment but you must be certain that your logic is correct. For conscience seek, accusing an innocent person wrongfully is not a good thing.

I'll respond as much as I can hoping you understand properly the working of Steem Blockchain and the things that are possible and the things that are not. I really hope you can take time your time to read it and understand them because taking my time to write it has taken me off my intended post for today. I honestly do not want to go into an exchange of words with you. I respect that you have the right to have your own opinion.

We Are Not An MLM

Multi-level marketing (MLM), also called pyramid selling, network marketing, and referral marketing, is a marketing strategy for the sale of products or services where the revenue of the MLM company is derived from a non-salaried workforce selling the company's products/services, while the earnings of the participants are derived from a pyramid-shaped or binary compensation commission system. Wikipedia

As you can see, @upvotebuilders is not an mlm as you describe, we are not selling anything, your level doesn't go up because of how many people you invite to join the community, your membership level is not tired to any payment to the community, your SP delegation is what you give and you can always undelegate whenever you choose to. If you understand how SP delegation works, you'll see that you've got the power to leave whenever you wish to without losing a cent but rather gaining more.

There is also no way the community can alter or take away your delegated SP. This is also not a paid for community, I belong to Quartor and currently you pay 4 steem to be a member but your posts are reviewed before you are allowed to become a member and if your contents are not up to the standard they return your Steem back to you. If you are good at writing at least 250 words or more I encourage you to join them as they are great. I also belong to Steem Basic Income for which I paid 1 Steem for my membership and that of another member. I receive upvotes automatically from both great projects each time I make a post (ones daily for qurator). There are many such communities on Steem both paid for, delegation based or both for higher upvotes.

All these communities are geared towards encouraging good content creation and get better rewards for such content. In our own cause we have chosen not to make it a paid membership community because from my experience here some people are even finding it hard to get enough SP to allow them post let alone paying for something. But if you have been creating contents for a while and have earn up to 10 SP that alone can let you join us by delegation. Let me reinstate a fact here which I believe you must know, delegating SP doesn’t take away you SP, you can get it back by undelegating it anytime you wish. In summary, your classification of our community as MLM is totally incorrect.

Who Is Running @upvotebuilders?

If you look at the first paragraph of the introductory post you will see that I introduced myself @ketcom as the initiator of this community (part of the reasons I said you didn’t read the post because if you did you would have seen that I had already introduced myself). I hold a first degree in Mathematics, a master degree in Business Administration. I've worked in banking, consultancy (management training) and stockbroking sector before going to leave in the UK. I chose to come back to my country Nigeria and establish my own business so I acquired web design skills and starting a web design services (hostketcom) and bulk SMS (mintmanual) business. For now I only visit the UK when I have to probably on vacations mostly.

I have a rabbit farm where I breed / rear rabbits and a garden in my compound where I grow various vegetables, spices (ginger, garlic and turmeric) and I also have lots of fruit trees (Pawpaw, Sore Chop, African Apples, Banana, Avacado Pea and Coconuts). I mostly feed from my farm and garden because I find them healthier than buying processed and packaged foods at the market. As a matter of fact I just learned from a Steemian recently that I was leaving a homesteading life. I didn’t know there was a word for such way of living until I came to Steem. Lol. You can see most of this stuff about me if you visit my blog @ketcom where I mostly write about them.

Automatic Tools

If you are conversant with Steemit I believe you must have bumped into some words like curation trail, steemauto, steemrewarding, steemvoter and other stuff like that. The nature of this place is such that to succeed and be receiving upvotes (apart from buying upvotes through bid-bots) you should as a matter of importance be visiting other peoples post, reading about what they write about and upvoting their post. Making comments, upvoting, following, resteeming and delegating to worthy causes as much as you can, that attracts people to you and your post and they will in return do the same to you. And that is how some friendship starts here. To be sure you are keeping tabs with such people you use any of such tools to mentioned to create a criteria by which you upvote members you support as they also do the same for you.

@ketcom Is A community Person

If you would take time to check me out on steemworld, you would observe that I delegated SP to the following Dapps/projects/communities: actifit, steembasicincome, qurator, steem-ua, magicdice, wherein, partiko, dclick and steem-plus. As a matter of fact, I have 1,294 SP of my own and that I delegated 1,213 to all these projects and DApps as a way of support, now that is more than 95% of my own SP. I spend heavily to lease SP regularly so that I can continually upvote people I support. I currently have 6,950 leased SP, I could as well not spend money leasing SP and just make do with my own SP but that would mean my upvote for a post I like without the additional leased SP would worth $0.00. All these are to let you know that I am a community person and spend my own money supporting community projects. All these you can verify as they are available on the blockchain and that is the transparency and credibility I am talking about.

My starting Upvotebuilders has not made me to undelegate my SP or support for other projects, if I had the resources I’ll do more. My belief is that we are all working together for the good of the blockchain. While we are awaiting mass adaptation, we want the encouragement to continue and that is why communities helping members have improved rewards is a good thing.

The Need For Community Power

Most of the current members are already familiar with themselves, we upvote ourselves, make comments on one another’s post, are follower and are an encouragement to others. But on our own most people don't get as much as they should get. I see a powerful write-up but I see total upvote worth $0.14. If you are a producer of content, you’ll understand how much time and efforts you put into producing it. But if by belonging to a community you get $0.14 from friends and the community upvote gives you way more than that, then you’ve got something to be happy about and you get motivated to do more. The motto for this community is There is power in unity, this is recognizing that together we can be powerful. It will take time to build up that is why we are leasing SP to power up so that members feel the impact of where we are heading to. I have already mentioned that there are tools for you to set your criteria for automatic upvote based on the percentages provided on the chart. So No one is cheated. You can always check the value of upvote you receive and check the status of the community at steemworld to know if it corresponds. I receive upvotes from the communities and Dapps I support but have never checked if they are voting me rightly because I trust in their judgment of what they upvote me with.

The Numbers

The community just started yesterday, we were lucky enough to receive free 1,000 SP delegation and with that I funded the leasing of additional 1,200 SP and with that the community account started upvoting people I was already familiar with most especially people using Actifit. Yes Actifit because they are required to post their report daily. The free voting period was the only time my personal account has received an upvote from the community account and that was once because I had to check if the setup works. I have not delegated SP to the community yet because there is an Early Bird membership drive the community is running and I don’t want to benefit from that and I have however sponsored the project with funding for leasing SP. You can verify all these through steemworld and that is transparency and credibility for you.

It is also stated in the post that reports of our progress will be posted at the beginning of every week (Monday). Since we just started yesterday, I feel you need to give us time to get things rolling before asking some of the questions you asked. But for a fact, I have been checking the post of members and have been seeing the effect of the community upvote and I believe our impact is been felt positively. You can also check these facts out on the Steem blockchain.

Current @Upvotebuilders Status

Delegated SP – 2,421
Leased SP – 5,200
Total SP – 7,621
Full Upvote Value - $0.16
We Are Moving forward

In Conclusion

My dear friend @nathen007, I called you that because I have no bad feelings about your comment and I hope you can see the good in what we are trying to do in building this community. But, if from all the time I have taken to present all these facts to you, you still come up with more negativity, then there is nothing more I can do except to ignore you and move on for the work ahead of us is mighty. Don’t spend your resources on bid bots trying to bring us down instead spend it helping other members trying to come up. There is power in unit. I hope you do change your mind and delete your comment but if you choose to continue then only time can be the judge of who has the good of the people at heart. Better still, you can delegate a small amount of SP and get in as an early bird, from there you can better understand the workings of the community and its impact on members. The decision is always yours.

Thanks for reading, remember members, upvoting it means you earn more from part of the curation rewards shared. Follow us, resteem it so we get more members. It is appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time @ketcom . I only used the bid bot to raise the comment because of course, you had flagged me.
I'm still not convinced by the scheme's merits but trust in your integrity and hope it brings reward to some deserving and hard working members. Good luck and I will be following your progress with interest, there are some lovely people I follow in the Nigerian community.
Will also be popping over to read your blog. I love gardening and 'homesteading' as our American cousins like to call it.
Best wishes and apologies for bringing your integrity into question.
Comments will be edited and a couple of SBI shares sent to you.

Hi @nathen007, apology accepted and SBI shares received. To show that there is no hard feelings, I have sent double the SBI share you sent back to you using my personal account @ketcom of course, at least it helps improve the rewards we'll be receiving after now. I thank you so much for taking time to go through everything. Like I mentioned in the post, we are just starting, with time I believe our work will speak for itself. I have also edited my comments and wish you all the best.

Congratulation @ketcom

If I want upvote on my post without delegating Sp

So what is the procedure? I mean, what is the minimum Steem and SBD required to get Upvote through @upvotebuilders

Hi @whatsontrend, thank you so much for your support. As you can read from the introductory post and current posts, @upvotebuilders is not a paid membership voting bot. It is a community of members growing a pool of SP used in upvoting members post according to their SP contribution. You can only get an upvote from the community account if you are a member of the community and to be a member of the community you need to delegate a minimum of 10 SP. You can hurry now and delegate because the early bird membership spot that gives you additional upvote % gift has only 2 slots remaining. Thanks.

I have 66 SP in use. I mean I delegate to 3rd party, If I undelegate and then delegate to upvotebuilders is this possible?

I have mentioned in numerous post that you don't need to stop your support for other projects just because you want to join @upvotebuilders and that is why the minimum membership level requires only 10 SP. Remember you can increase it as you progress. Thanks for your interest as we look forward to welcoming you.

Can you tell me clearly what i need to do to become a member or to start benefitting from upvotebuilders? I am Nigerian too.

Hi @paramind, thanks for your interest in becoming a member of @upvotebuilders. From all our post it can clearly be seen that delegating SP according to the membership level you want to belong to, the minimum is 10 SP. You can hurry now and delegate because the early bird membership spot that gives you additional upvote % gift has only 2 slots remaining. Membership cuts across every nationality on the Steem blockchain and is not country specific. Thanks once again as we look forward to welcoming you. There is power in unity.

Alright just delegated 10SP to @upvotebuilders. Can you confirm that?
