RE: Why is the Steem Price Low? How Do We Fix It?

in #steem6 years ago (edited)

The system is being gamed to hell right now MOSTLY by those who frequently abuse the flag. Jerry is right for pointing out what a flag is intended for. The point is that those who love the flag the most are using it for NONE of the reasons it is there for, and all of the reasons they ought not ti use it for.

The most telling part about this thread is the frantic pro-censorship arguments

Those most frantic are the ones afraid that the truth about their system of gaming will soon be revealed.

Now if I mentioned the professional gamers by name, you want to bet they will flag my comment?

Honestly, abuse is going on from both sides. It's easy to look around and see plagiarism and other abuses that warrant people being flagged. What I'm talking about however is that I see plenty of people (read whales) going around flagging content that they think "pollutes the reward pool" rather than strictly flagging content that breaks the rules. There needs to be a process of restitution, restorative justice, or these abuses will continue as long as the abusers have no incentive to follow the rules of flagging.

A lot of what these @badcontent champions do is called slander in everyday language. They appear to have started believing they're their gun toting avatars shooting baddies with their pistols. Restoration of the harm they've caused should come someway somehow because some of us live in civilization with courts of law. Hopefully we never forget or let a single infraction go without objections. Jerry's made solid points about the flag.
