RE: Convergence: The Key To STEEM's Massive Explosion In The Near Future: Part 3
Being new, what have you contributed to this network or site? What have you done for the blockchain?
Nothing...and your account reflects that.
Those with a big SP, have contributed a lot. They usually are here a long time which means they had time to build it up. Yet they also posted and contributed a lot over that time. Also, many poured money into STEEM when it was a much riskier investment. Therefore, they were able to prop up a falling token when things were looking grim. Steemit had its problems over the 1.5 years in operation and the whales, for the most part, were there the entire time suffering through it. Sure, there are some who profit without much effort but that isnt all of them.
Contribute each day as much as you can and talk to me in 4 or 5 months...I am sure your account will not reflect what it does today.
Sure - don´t get me wrong, I´m not complaining, I just signed up yesterday - so it´s not about me personally at all...
My observation was more in general terms and questioning whether putting a number behind a social status is necessarily "better" than the number we attach to money in RL?
For me, it seems to be the same dynamic...
...and also I´m not saying that this is bad in any way - it´s just not different....
Even when you say, that I have to invest into the blockchain - which I may do anyway over the next months, because it is fun - is the same argument as saying that you have to work for money.
I don´t see the advantage in regards of trading time/work for money/steem
