DLive Releases Android App
It is always fun to watch the STEEM blockchain grow and expand. There are so many things happening at the same time that are pushing STEEM forward. While pricing action is tanking, development is charging full-STEEM ahead.
Earlier today, the development team posted about the progress they are making.
In that article, the most exciting piece of news is that they decided to apply the Communities feature to not only Steemit it, but the entire blockchain. Hence, any application that is built upon the STEEM blockchain has the option of implmenting the Communities feature. This will be decided by the developers of the individuals applications.
What did not receive a ton of publicity was a press release that was put out yesterday by the DLive team.
They announced that they launched on Android and is available for download from Google Play.
DLive presently boasts 500K monthly users which makes it the largest live streaming platform on the blockchain. This is a market that is only going to get bigger over time. Streaming is growing, overall, by leaps and bounds.
"Blockchain has enormous potential to change how people stream and watch videos," said Charles Wayn, CEO of DLive. "Today, the industry is dominated by a few massive companies who are incentivised to take money from their creators and push ads into content whenever possible. By decentralizing streaming, we can democratize video content while giving a better experience to viewers and creators. Creators on DLive also have a chance to find an audience and not get not buried under millions of streamers, as with larger platforms."
On DLive, creators can earn STEEM tokens by receiving upvotes on their content and gifts from their fans. DLive also has a dedicated content management team which manages over 2 million STEEM Power to reward creators directly based on the quality of their videos. Viewers can also earn tokens by upvoting content, making meaningful comments, and referring new users to join DLive.
It is important to remember that a blockchain is an ecosystem. Every application that is added is of benefit to all of us. Even if it is something that is not used by a particular individual, he or she benefits if the ecosystem is made stronger. This is something to always keep in mind. Anything that is tied to the STEEM blockchain is not competition but an opportunity to improve our ecosystem.
Everywhere I turn, there is reason to be optimistic about this blockchain. There are a lot of good things happening.
It is going to be a very fun ride.

I got a mail earlier today from DLive, notifying me of this recent development. Tried downloading the app from playstore today, all efforts proved abortive, but I'll try out again.
I'm particularly impressed about this update, and yes, great things are still emerging from the steem blockchain despite the dwindling prices of steem/SBD.
So when will dtube come out with one?
Dtube is slow but it was one of the well known out of all Steem apps...
Soon.
Price action seems to be driven by pure sentiment for the time being. There is no reason not to expect this ecosystem to grow and with growth we will be well-positioned to reap the benefits of the next bull run.
This is great as the mobile application should increase use and improve the accessibility to the blockchain. For example, Facebook’s app launched it into increase usage per user which ultimately helped monetize the user base.
The app is totally amazing and shows the power of the Blockchain. Clearly will takeover Twitch in the future. Will do an app review on my phone YouTube channel.
I was so excited to see this yesterday and I downloaded the app instantly.
I think @dlive has some extremely creative and forward-thinking talent and I cannot wait until the app has the ability to stream directly from a smart phone. I have tried using my phone with bitstream and I just cannot get it to work properly. I think having it stream straight from your phone will open up a great amount of accessibility to the steemit community!
This is really interesting. I'm seeing a ton of activity streaming activity on mainstream platforms. I'm really wondering how this will go. I can't quite get into the whole streaming thing yet.
It isnt my thing either @diggndeeper.com but it is huge.
Give the masses what they want.
