Age Of Abundance: STEEM As A Stepping Stone To Loving Humanity

in #steem6 years ago (edited)

There is so much anger and violence in the world today. Even though we made radical strides in the last 20 years, we still are, overall, a barbaric species. Human beings are simply awful to each other and the world around them. If we are known for something, it is destruction.

Our entire system is based upon scarcity and controlling the resources around us. Even human beings are considered "capital". Thankfully, much of what we are accustomed to is starting to change.

I found STEEM 10 months ago. Since that time, I feel in love with the platform and the people on it. The potential with this blockchain is truly amazing. Yes I am one of the most bullish people on this network and the token associated with it. However, that is not what I am referring to.

The most bullish aspect to the STEEM blockchain is the community that is forming and the impact that can be made for society. We see many projects started with the potential to change the path of humanity. For example, I see the SMT protocol as being a key piece that aids in the ending of poverty. With all the creativity on this blockchain, people are going to create billions of dollars worth of wealth that is spread among hundreds of millions of people.

At the same time, we are establishing the foundation of how we interact with each other. There are many on here who still are sucked into the scarcity mindset, thus lashing out at others. They operate from a place of fear. Why do they do this? Did anyone ask why someone with millions of dollars would still be afraid? Of course, the answer is that fear has nothing to do with the size of one's bank account. It is the mindset one has and what is held in the heart.

There are a number of projects which help the lives of other people. There are a few basic income experiments taking place. Entities such as @steembasicincome, @mannacurrency, and @tribesteemup all operate with the idea of trying to help others with direct payments of some sort. Steemians can fund many things simply through upvotes. How novel is that?

Many question what people are going to do once the Age of Abundance fully arrives? What will the world look like? How can we exist without work?

I saw a video with the Indian Yogi Sadhguru that really summed up what is taking place. He said that basically anything that deals with memory (the intellect) will be done by a machine in a few decades. This is the physical realm. It is the world of information, data, and the rearranging of such. Even the memory of cells is included in this.

What he was describing is the move to autonomous machines. Many fear this yet it is a part of our evolution. It is also why I disagree with the idea of guaranteed jobs. Enslaving someone is a position simply that has little value to anyone so they can draw a paycheck is senseless to me. It is time we evolve past that.

Sadhguru went on to explain that we spend so much time honing the intellect. It is like a knife, something we sharpen. This creates a pursuit that provides much advancement in the physical realm, yet little in other realms. His belief is that our world, once those pursuits belong to machines, will be freed up to operate outside that. In other words, to hone our skills as they pertain to consciousness.

Naturally, this is a personal matter based upon definition. Nevertheless, even quantum is showing that a world of "nothingness" exists. There is a lot of power in the invisible. Many philosophies discussed this throughout the ages.

At the core of this appears to be love. Again, we can get tied up in definitions. At the essence there seems to be a magical power in the "nothing" that we can tap into. For all our knowledge, perhaps we are only scratching the surface.

Future decades are going to see humanity accessing this realm. Today, there are a few who operate within this on a daily basis. The rest of us are caught up in the rat race. The Age of Abundance is one of great technological advancement. That is a characteristic of the new Era we are entering. This advancement is going to uplift all of humanity. It all starts with how we interact towards each other.

Humans are conditioned to attach each other. They come from a place of continual lack. Hence, the question I asked earlier about coming from fear with a huge bank account is answered. We are taught there is never enough. This is an addition. It is sickness. It is abusive. The "disease of more" is something at the core of all addicts behavior. The drug abuser is always after the better high. Whatever the vehicle, it is a perpetual race to try and fill the hole within.

Isn't this consumerism? Aren't we taught to always want what our neighbors want no matter what we have?

The disease of more.

We see it on STEEM. How many people look at the wallets of other on here to compare? How many focus upon the actions they need to take to enhance their standing on the blockchain by getting more SP versus the ones who are jealous and angry at those with more? How many are grateful for each SP that is gained?

At $1.70, who cares? What is there to cherish?

I once heard, "how you do anything is how you do everything".

Of course, I hypothesize that if each SP was worth $1M, many would have a different perspective.

STEEM is the blockchain of opportunity.

What that means is we have the opportunity to look within ourselves and identify the fear. It is time we learn how to cast this out of ourselves. We are entering the Age of Abundance yet few seem to believe it. Perhaps that is a starting point, why does anyone find it so hard to believe that this is emerging? Is there any limit to the creativity and innovation that humanity can have? The blockchain provides the opportunity for anyone with an idea to pursue it. There is no authority telling anyone that a project cannot be tried on here. For the first time in history, humanity is granted the tools to start reversing what existed for thousands of years.

Will this happen overnight? Of course not. It is going to be a few years of development, a great deal which will be as exciting as watching grass grow. Nevertheless, it is needed to bring this industry to the masses. User friendliness and security are going to be two areas that we need to see radical improvement before this will moves anywhere near what can be considered mainstream adoption.

In the meantime, all of us get to work on our interaction with ourselves and each other. The way we behave towards other people only reflects what is within us. When we are lashing out, we are announcing the world we are scared. This becomes evident when we are blessed with such an arena where abundance is going to be created. There are going to be thousands of tokens that are available to anyone with a username and a key on the STEEM blockchain. Each of us will be able to earn from many different sources and transfer those tokens into whatever currency we desire.

Yet people still are full of fear.

I am grateful for the lessons that the STEEM blockchain teaches me. Becoming part of this community provides the lessons in anarchy. We are going to see a world without the control agents we are so accustomed to. This is the promise of blockchain. While it will be a bumpy road since those forces will not give up easily, it is one that is guaranteed. If you will, it is written in the stars. The ancient star-gazers forecast this thousands of years ago. Now, Steemians are fortunate enough to see it unfolding before our eyes.

The world was upside down for a long time. Personally, I believe that was by design. This system favored the very few. The ideals and beliefs we hold dear, for the most part, are what enslave us. It is sad to see so many defend ideas that were programmed into them and, yet, never questioned. What we think about work, money, community, friendship, and love is very sick. It is backwards. Ultimately, it is enslaving.

STEEM is teaching me what it means to be a part of a community. Everyone has a vested interest in the whole. Whether one joined two years ago or yesterday, all have something to contribute. At the same time, everyone has a responsibility to do their part to move this forward. Those who want to tear it down are only concerned about their own interests. This is normal since it was mankind has been doing for thousands of generations. And look at where that got us.

There is a lot more to this than meets the eye. The world of the invisible is much more powerful than the visible. Many disciplines are starting to prove this. Is the energy being exerted creating positive or negative results? What is the intention behind the action taken? Is this going to improve the path of humanity or set it back?

Think that being a bit extreme? Where we are today is the result of a hundreds of billions of trillions of quadrillions steps that people took throughout our history. All actions have an impact, sometimes to a much greater degree than we believe.

Can each of us bring positive impact to the STEEM blockchain in all we do? This will be the test. If we cannot do this on here, where we are free to choose, what will happen in other areas of our lives?

Am I coming from a place of fear or gratitude? That is the ultimate question.

Great post. You are drawing a bright picture here. Badly needed in times of crisis and, you say, in times of fear. I liked what you wrote about introspection and how the way people interact here pretty much reveals what kind of people they are. Wise.

I've been working for about 10 years on breaking that fear mind set that was so effectively indoctrinated into me by adults and influences, most of whom probably knew no better, for 25+ years. It is something so deeply ingrained that I have to be conscious of it all the time.

See, for the first 22 years of my life, I was the single angriest person you'd have ever had the displeasure to know. I was so angry that I had developed a me-against-the-world mentality. When I got too tired to be angry anymore, when I just couldn't fight everyone anymore, I started trying to figure out what the hell I was so angry about.

What has me so angry that I'm willing to be self-destructive just to show the world how angry I am?

I realized that I wasn't necessarily angry. I was afraid. Of what, I won't get into here, but I was just afraid.

I've still got a lot of work to do, and I probably always will, but since I've been working on pushing fear out of my life, I'm happier that I ever thought I could be, I'm more productive, I'm over-done-and-finished with competing with anyone, and I'm a hell of a lot nicer!

  • just my two cents on the subject...

Very powerful. Very self aware. You’re doing great work. Wow.

This blog is the best ever there is so much poverty in this world and no one can really do something about it. Sometimes I feel I wish Ican change all that but for us it is Impossible. I am not a young person any more and it feels so sad to see the poverty of this world. If what you said come true this is my biggest prairie that the world will become a better place to live in. I Thankyou for sharring and have a Awesome day.

"With all the creativity on this blockchain, people are going to create billions of dollars worth of wealth that is spread among hundreds of millions of people."

In the third world that 10 dollars could be a week's groceries, but in the first world you have to hunt around to get a gallon of milk, a loaf of bread, and a dozen eggs for that tenner. Try feeding a family of four on that.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the idea, but for some, it's only a start.
