Steemit - Feature Request - show views per post
I think a valuable metric would be to display how many views a post has had, this could be displayed on the summary near the comments and could serve as an indication for people looking through post as to the quality of the content i.e high views but low votes would suggest sub par quality and vice versa.
This would also be useful to content creators to see how many people have actually viewed their post and use that number with the amount of vote received to determine the posts impact on the community.

It's a nice suggestion, but I worry that the main value of it would be for clickbait posts. If something gets a lot of views and not a lot of votes, then it's probably not high quality content. Isn't that why we have votes and not advertising on Steemit?
As Smooth mentioned, i don't think it should be used for ranking, just supplementary information. i know a news provider that is looking at cross referencing steemit posts; would be good to see incoming views especially on these post that are referenced by major news services.
Good idea, but with the caveat that it should never be given a great degree of prominence or used for ranking posts, because unlike steem voting, it can easily be gamed, and will be if there is a real benefit to doing so. So good for a fun indicator but not good for more than that.

I like this idea! Maybe also break it down by steemit members and others. If it just showed count, you might have all or most coming from non-members, and that would not tell you anything regarding the votes you got.
Now, speaking of Feature Requests... what do you think of Smileys?

I'm all for this as long as it doesn't log who the actual viewers are. I feel like that would really ruin the essence of Steemit.
